We rented kayaks from Simon for half a day. The water was like glass and he showed us on the map the best places to go and offered snorkeling gear as we didn’t bring ours with. Wish we’d have taken him up on it although the water was crystal clear and we were able to see the coral, fish and star fish were everywhere. Picked one up and it was hard shelled unlike ones I’ve been in contact with before. At first thought it might be dead but close inspection showed it very much alive . Gently put it back in the water.
Also, very impressed with Simon, he’s a very kind individual and will allow local kids to use his kayaks and snorkeling equipment. When I mentioned this he said he’d rather see them playing in the water and staying active. Your a good man Simon.

Simon was truly awesome! He was incredibly patient during the wind surfing lesson and very helpful getting my friend and I set up with our paddle boards. I would definitely go back and would recommend him to anyone who want to do water sports in Placencia. I would just make sure to call him ahead of time as he is the only one who works there.

I was looking for a place to do some kayaking off the beach in Placencia, and this place was the perfect spot. Located right next to the Tipsy Tuna, Simon's stand had everything you need for an afternoon on the water. His gear was in excellent condition, and he was very helpful with new places to go explore. The next day, I came back to grab a mask and fins for snorkeling. Simon went above and beyond in accommodating when I could return the gear. This is the spot for some sun and fun on the water in the village.
