“Eh.”

I visited rumfish three times. really wanted to give this place a great review but honestly aside from ambiance Rumfish has little to offer. Oh and wine. To be fair I think this is a place you must try at least once. I mean taste is subjective, right? Customer service in below above (esp. since they are ex-pats) but the owner do their best to accommodate all guest. The food is 'meh. and drinks are a bit overpriced- this place just doesn't excite me. Try Rumfish and Vino when you're Placencia. I tried and I wont go back.

wonderful menu, spectacular specials! Very nice open air restaurant. Very friendly staff. Reservations almost always needed, unless single person. Location is very central.

“Rumfish Review”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Rumfish has great drinks and food. We loved meeting the owner, John, who purchased the place with his wife on their honeymoon 4 years ago. The whole experience was fun and delicious.

“This restaurant would make it in New Orleans”
Reviewed November 1, 2012

If you are looking for a place with great drinks (don't miss out on Mojitos & Fusion drinks) food and romantic laid back atmosphere in paradise this is it. We started out with the Thai Shrimp cakes the best I have ever tasted (better than any in New Orleans) filled with fresh shrimp and seasoned to perfection with just the right amount of panko bread crumbs to tie it all together. Our entrees of Snapper with Coconut Rice & Fish Tacos exceeded our expectations. The service was excellent being attentive to our needs but not overly allowing us to enjoy the atmosphere. The owners take a very active part in making your experience memorable. This is a must visit when in Placencia I am sure you will enjoy it as much as we did.

“Lovely... everything”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

I have lived in Placencia for two and a half years and frequent Rumfish often. It is my favorite restaurant in the village and in the rest of the world for that matter. Brillant from the location to the decor to the lighting to the music to the atmosphere to the cocktails to the food to the staff and owners.
I am one of those people who goes into a place and finds something that could be improved but I can't do it in this place. Nicely done :)
