We returned from San Pedro to Paradise again last week and enjoyed ourselves as much as before. We watched dolphins playing from our second floor balcony, took out a kayak for a beautiful morning trip, enjoyed the food and drinks in the restaurant and had a great rest in the peace and quiet of Placencia. Thanks to the great staff, especially Nazalie, for all their help, we look forward to our next visit already.

Room Tip: Rooms 10, 11 and 12 have a great view of the ocean

All my cares, worries, stress and headaches were gone when I reached Paradise Hotel. They treated me like part of the family and always asked if I needed any thing. Even told us about the Placencia area which Allen and his staff know quite a bit about. Air conditionins, clean spotless rooms right on a small beach and a long dock to watch the sunsets. Gorgeous. Theme night was "All American Dance Band" and had a great, great meal and fun. Will come back again and again. Thanks Allen, Nazle, Marie and Tracey and all the gang for making it paradise for us.

Room Tip: ocean front with full kitchens and balconey overlooking the ocean are perfect

We stayed in the Paradise for 3 nights while in Placencia. We wanted to be near and within walking distance of the town of Placencia. The Paradise in right on the water, with a small beach and a long pier out to the water, and some beach chairs nearby. There is a wonderfully colorful bar, open all day long, and a covered area with tables and chairs to sit and have a snack or a meal. The owners and all the staff were as friendly as could be. We had full and free use of bicycles and kayaks and snorkeling gear, and we made great use of all of them. We kayaked each day, we saw many starfish and other sea life and watched pelicans fish, as we circled an island of mangrove trees in blissful peace.

We were able to take a short walk into town and found great places to have coffee and breakfast and drinks and snacks and delicious dinners. We liked being near the town and not isolated in a remote resort, because we enjoy talking to people and being a part of the local culture. The people of Belize are very warm and easy to talk to and helpful and friendly and open. Yoli's next door is a great place to have a beer (or more), and watch the sunset.

One afternoon we hired a local boat to take us snorkeling nearby, and after a 15 minute boat ride we were guided to some great sites, where we saw so many fish, and lobsters, and conch shells, it was amazing.

Our room was clean and well kept, with a good air conditioner and a fan, tv, and wifi. I am sure the ocean view rooms are more beautiful to be in, but we booked late, and besides, spent very little time in our room anyway.

Room Tip: Ask for ocean view, if available.

As this was our second visit to Placencia, we knew we wanted to spend more time at the tip of the peninsula. We had discovered Yoli's Bar the previous year and had such a great time listening to the stories spun by the great number of sailors who make it a point to anchor nearby whenever they are in the area. The Paradise is right next door and it has a very nice bar/dining area of it's own right off the beach as well. Varied menu, good food, great prices. Every thing about the Paradise was a good deal. Having the free use of kayaks and snorkeling gear was a big plus, and you can even fish off the end of their dock if that's your inclination. Staff is friendly, personable, and helpful, rooms are small but clean, great bathroom decor, and really good air conditioning units. No parking near by but golf cart shuttling is available...and it means a quieter spot. No down sides to the Paradise..

Room Tip: ask for an ocean view, not all rooms have windows, although, with air conditioning it is a minor iss...

However, we had such a great time that we owe it to them to offer our perspective. It is a little hard to get to, but that only adds to the charm. We started out trip in the San Ignacio area and were very glad to get here and find air conditioning!

Becasue of a busy patch, we had to stay in one of the garden rooms before we could move to our oceanview room #11. The small room we had first was pefectly adequate. But room #11 is the best room in the place, one of two ocean view rooms. We spent more time than I care to admit just sitting on the patio looking at the ocean and day-to-day life of the place.

Everyone was helpful.

This will always be a destination for us.

Room Tip: Any room is fine. We saw our pilot for our flight out stayed there, so it must be good and restful...

The folks there were wonderfully cooperative and we felt that we picked the right place in the town of Placencia. Just away from the downtown action, but walking distance to everything, including grocery stores, bars, restaurants, and and all sorts of curiosity shop on the walkway. Tracy at the bar will be your friend, and the owner Allen was there at the airport to pick us up. We were right on the water and because we were at the bottom of the peninsula instead of on the east coast, we avoided some wind that can sometimes be fairly steady. We stayed in Room # 12, and it was beautiful - all wood, beautiful carvings, nice tile floor, full kitchen, and colorful bathroom; terrific view from both inside the room and a veranda to sit on just out the doorwall. This is the best room in the place I would guess. We had a little trouble with our TV, but after a couple of fixes they finally brought us a new one that worked perfectly.

There is a bar and restaurant right there at the resort, so if you don't feel like walking for a drink or something to eat, bingo .. its right there. That's where we got to be friends with Tracy. Within 100 yards is another little bar called Yolo's (I think), and its a great place for food and drink too. We had a great afternoon and early evening there with a group of folks made up mostly of tourists (like us) ex-pat Americans and Canadians living there, mixed with several locals, and singing and guitars, harmonica ... all a great vibe. The bartender was the ex-pat owner and I think the place is named after his
Belizean wife Yolo. These folks were wonderful.

Can't miss with this one folks - it will call you back. And its much nicer there in Placencia than the frantic golf cart infested San Pedro on Ambergris.

My husband and I backpacked through Belize and into Guatemala in January 2013. We definitely saved the best place for last. Loved the cozy, colorfull rooms and the clean bathrooms with nice hot water. We felt very safe there and the staff treated us so well! Upon arriving I was called by name as they were expecting us to arrive sometime that day. The food was excellent in the restaurant. Loved using the Kayaks and the bikes that were on hand for free. I do have to caution anyone riding bikes in the area though, that a lot of dogs run loose and I was bit by a pit bull. I did end up in the medical clinic and was well taken care of but it could have been even nastier if not for my husband who got the dog away from me. Anyways, not the fault of Paradise Hotel. We loved the hotel so much we ending up staying 5 nights instead of 3. The morning we left, one of the staff was waiting for us at 5:45a.m. in the rainy parking lot and gave us a lift to the bus stop. We will be back one day for sure. Loved loved loved Belize and the people.
