I visited the center on a college study abroad trip and had a wonderful time! The museum artifacts, all explained by Julio the founder, truly helped me understand traditional Mayan culture. The live demonstrations of coffee and corn grinding as well as tortilla making made us students gain an enormous respect for the hard working Mayans. We were also treated to a live demonstration of a traditional Mayan dance! The gift shops sold some wonderful Mayan arts and crafts, including some delicious chocolate, and the guest houses at the Maya Center are wonderful for a budget priced place!
