“Property was good.....staff and property management poor.”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

We booked and put a 25 per cent down on 2 casitas in July 2013 for arrival in January 2014. When we arrived, we found that one of the casitas was taken off the market. The other was not available because the owner came in. No problem on either but why didn't they let us know in advance? In actuality, we talked to the people in the one casita and they were NOT owners just renters like us. All was a lie and no apology! We got two casitas near the restaurant and pool...noisy. (We booked the original casitas to be away from noise etc).

Also found out that the tour we booked through their management charged us $50.00USD when the going price was 50.00 Belize Dollars which is half USD. Our ride to the tour was $40.00 USD per person (that allowed 2 management people to go into town FREE!!!!).

The property was nice, the management terrible. Two in our party were actually looking at potentially buying there but no one even cared when they asked questions about the property.

All in all, NEVER again and we will all tell everyone to stay away!

My wife and I made a trip to Belize in May and discovered a very, very nice Bed & Breakfast. We spent the first couple of days in Belize City and took two tours - one to do a Jungle Zip-line and Cave Tubing tour. Both were great adventures, although I can say the Zip-line wasn't as scary as people make them out to be. The guides were very nice and the food and beverages were fantastic. The second began with a river boat excursion that led to one of the Mayan Ruins, where my wife got to see her lifelong dream of Toucans in the wild, as well as howler monkeys. We were told by our guides this had never happened before. On this river trip, we met a gentleman who had recently started his own B&B at Orchid Bay, Belize. At his invitation, we checked out of the hotel and drove north to the beautiful area known as Orchid Bay, nestled in an inlet from the Caribbean. (Its a little rough to get there, but the destination is fantastic) Along with his wonderful B&B, furnished with natural Belize mahogany, there are several thatched hut casitas for rent as well. A beautiful infinity pool, bar, restaurant, within a short walk to the Caribbean. We will be going back!!!

Room Tip: It doesn't matter. In this secluded area, you'll enjoy any room you pick in the B&B.

Stayed for one night only! Property has a restaurant, bar, pool, fountains, dock, and volleyball area. Cottages were nicely appointed with a screened in porch, beautiful garden and thatch roofing. Loved the tile and exotic wood work throughout the entire unit. The unit I stayed in had a full kitchen and dining area with a pullout sofa sleeper. There was also an upper loft which meant the unit came with three beds. The linens were plush and the unit was fresh and comfortable. A very nice property for those wanting to get away and enjoy one of the best properties northern Belize has to offer. I did have dinner at the restaurant and their prices were quite reasonable with the exception of a limited menu. The drive getting to the property was quite "adventurous" and scenic!

In this picture perfect piece of land on the sea sits Orchid Bay. The people are welcoming and immediately you feel at home. We were lucky enough to stay in a casita at the edge of the water. The pool is just steps from the ocean. The reef is only a short boat ride away and you can easily take day trips to Mayan ruins or shop in Mexico. We highly recommend Orchid Bay for any adventure trip, honeymoon or even a place to call home!

As we arrived in Corozal a nice lady gave us the name of this place, that even not too far as km was difficult to reach. You need infact from Corozal to cross twice the river on a plattform where you have to go over with the car..
In Orchid Bay beach club the time seems to be stopped.
We had a bungalow fully equipped with big bedroom + mansarda. The sea in that point seems like a lake, a wonderful and relaxing view.
There one bar/restaurant opening from 10 am, handled by a very nice american owners who lives there with husband.
There is not so much choise for eating, but anyway everything was good.
There is a beautiful swimming pool and a litte shop (very little, you can find really some few articoles)
Anyway I really suggest if you are nearby to spend couple of days ( 1 night 140 usd)

We actually visited in March 2011 and stayed in a Casita. These two-room vacation homes are owned by North Americans. The two rooms is not counting bathroom and screened porch. They are are solidly built modern units with a/c, full kitchen and room for additional bedding on the couch/futon and some casitas also have beds in the loft. Big bedroom and large kitchen/dining living room area. The water is gorgeous from the dock (beaches in Belize are spare in the sense that while lots of sand, most shores you don't just walk off the beach into the water due to mangrove tree roots and other so go jump in from the dock).

Like much of Belize, the restaurant was simple but with some nice entrees. But they have now added a new B&B: Crimson Orchid B&B so there may be more services associated with that. They are also building condos. The area is designed to be small scale and walkable so that even when fully built will not at all be a glitzy towering resort. So if you have the right expectation of a remote, small scale with modern touches, great but if you want Disney World go to Orlando.

*While I didn't rate room service or about a fitness center, we didn't ask for either, but maybe they have them.
