My girlfriend and I arrived in Belize in early January for a week’s getaway.

We were collected at the airport and spent 4 nights at Ka’ana Boutique Hotel. We got a real sense of culture as we made our way to the Hotel and also got lots of helpful hints on things to do from our Driver on route.

On arrival we were greeted with cocktails and a warm welcome from the General Manager and his staff. We were then taken through the beautifully landscaped resort, past the pool and into our air conditioned Casita. The room was beautifully laid out with good space, a wall mounted large flat screen TV, bathrobe robes, high quality linens, and an amazing King size bed - We had arrived - Luxury!

While we had plenty of help from staff on things to do and see, we also just enjoyed the luxurious laid back atmosphere of the resort. We were catered for on every level. One of the evenings after an active day walking and climbing the local Mayan ruins, we arrived back at the hotel and enjoyed an hour long head-to-toe deep tissue massage. Soon after, we were invited to the wine cellar for a glass of Shiraz. This was then followed by a top class dinner in the dining room prepared by an award winning and humourous chef. It was a special evening indeed!

Customer service was 7 star level - I mean it! - What a find!

We have made plans to return to Belize again and to Ka'ana Resort especially.

Might see you in Ka'ana next time we're down!

We had a fantastic 3 night stay at Ka'ana. The accomodations were very comfortable with modern amenities especially for the remote location. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Eva was a great hostess for our wine cellar welcome and Wilbert was a very interesting and helpful guide. Shakira always had a smile and helped with any questions. Manolo is a great chef and provided us with an outstanding meal. We were sorry to have to leave but hope to return someday soon.

The Ka'ana is a very nice property with outstanding service that reminds me of the "W" hotels in the US. The rooms have every modern amenity - LCD TVs, 200+ channels of satellite TV, iPod charging stations, etc..and are spacious.

The service was incredibly personal and amazing. I really can't overstate that. The welcome drink and "hot towel" service reminded me of checking into one of the 5 star Taj Group of hotels in India.

Eva and Nick, the managers are terrific and truly get to know their guests. Wilbert, the tour guide is also warm, personable and funny.

The only downside to this property is that at times we felt like we hadn't left San Francisco. Prices were all quoted in US dollars (which somehow felt wrong) and were quite high for the food. Meals were variable - some were terrific, others were not so.

I would recommend this to my urbanite friends who crave 5 star service and every amenity in a safe "American" environment....but probably not for those wanting a more authentic Belizean experience.

My best friend and I spent three glorious, perfect days in Ka'ana Resort. It was the best resort I have ever stayed in! We had just come from Tikal, and they collected us and drove us there in a lovely 4x4, with A/C and refreshments provided. When we arrived, they were expecting us and we were warmly greeted with a cold drink and a cooling face towel. The extremely friendly staff showed us around the beautiful reception, pool area and then to our rooms.

The casitas (like individual apartments) were absolutely luxurious! They were complete with all the mod cons one would expect from a resort of this calibre, and are in a beautiful setting. We had planned to dine in the nearby San Ignacio, (the second largest city in Belize), but instead we dined at the restaurant in Kaana all three days we were there, all the meals were so amazing!

We did two trips - Cave Tubing in Jaguar Paw and Caving in Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM). We enjoyed both greatly. The guides were exceptional, and the experiences memorable. They organised every part of our holiday, including onward transport to Placencia, down south east. The tree planting upon our departure was a perfect finish to a perfect stay.

Overall, the staff were perfect - very friendly, professional, helpful and hospitable. The meals were top quality. Every inch of the resort was meticulously maintained. I will definitely return and partake in more of the various activities they offer. Next time, I will stay for longer in Ka'ana! Wonderful! :o)

Ka 'ana, was by far the best resort I have stayed at in Belize. The Manager Nick and all the staff were great. We got rained out of our original accomadations, and Nick offered us a room at a great price considering the circumstances. We stayed on Ka 'ana for 5 days and it was great. The staff did everything they could to find us stuff to do considering the whole area was flooded. We had and Awesome time even with the water!!!!

Kaana took us in, last minute, when the areas surrounding our originally booked hotel were flooded. They made our stay enjoyable and affordable, in spite of the circumstances. The staff is extremely attentive, and Nick, the manager is very generous and amiable. The rooms are clean, and come with flat screen tv, ipod docking station, and all the extras. The welcome drink and departing tree planting were unforgettable experiences that really made us feel a part of the place. Nick and the staff went above and beyond, to make our stay as pleasant as possible!

Myself and my best friend had only a short stay at Ka'ana and wished we allowed for more time. This beautiful hotel is everything I hoped for and so much more. The arrival and check in must be experienced; we were greeted with an ice cold cloth at arrival, a delicious welcome drink and the friendliest and warmest smiles by about 6 staff on duty including the General Manager Nick.
This super service continued the entire time and every detail was perfectly arranged. We couldn’t have asked for a more special treatment. The wine cellar pre dinner drinks were fantastic and so personal, dinner afterwards divine and the service again - perfection. The chef came to out table to give us a quick update on what each dish was exactly.

Ka’anas location made it for an ideal place to explore the incredible area of San Ignacio. No bumpy road to get to and from make it a great base to go exploring Tikal, Xunantunich about 10mins away, the many and incredible caves of Belize, horse back riding, bird watching and many other activities. Wilbert is a very knowledgeable and friendly guide we can highly recommend.

We didn’t have enough time to enjoy any spa treatment, but another guest told me that she loved it and the pool was also just fantastic.

The Casitas are gorgeous and have all the amenities one could wish for. Air con, Egyptian cotton sheets, flat TV screen, a fan if you don’t like air con, i-pod stereo system etc. I also loved the art work on display throughout this little paradise.

The tree planting at check out courtesy of Ka’ana is special and adds a very nice touch. Ka’ana is doing its bit to support the environment and it felt good to offset my carbon footprint..

My only regret is not having had more time! When we go again we will stay for at least 3-4 nights.
