We stayed two nights and had a good time. Theo creates a very relaxed atmosphere and provides a great travel service too with lots of good advice. We stayed in cabana 3 with outside shared bathroom. It was a good experience however if I went back would stay in a tree house or ensuite, for that extra something.

I loved the honesty bar and shared meals which were good, but the room was limited in space for two peple unless one sat on the bed or outside, the beds and bathrooms are a little tired now.

Only 3 miles out of San Ignacio, this is the place to stay. You can still do all your San Ignacio/ruin/jungle trips and stay here.
You are totally secluded yet still close to everything. What a great couple days.
We got there and were welcomed by Theo and her mom and daughters as well as other guests of the house. We were cooked a super wicked home cooked meal and hung out with our new friends.
If you wanna go do your tours and trips, Theo will hook u up with ppl she knows (on her speed dial!) and they come pick u up from the parking lot.
This place is un-real. We stayed on one of the floor cabanas. At first, my husband wanted out. The sounds of the crickets and the conversations about bugs and snakes and scoprions kinda freaked him out. We toughed it out the first night and when Theo found out how spooked he was, when we came back from our excuursion, she had a bug net up for us. So much better! He didn't have to wrap himself into a coccon this time:)
This place is super clean, even the OUTDOOR sinks smell like sunshine! hahahah
There's the MOpan river across the common area and at night, you can see the thousands of drangonflies lighting up the grass.
You wake up to the sounds of birds and parrots. The place is like heaven.
Theo really makes a huge difference, with her kindness, her sense of humour and hospitality.
If you wanna stay in san ignacio, forget the city. you can do the whole city thing and stuff in the day. Spend your evenings and night at Parrot Nest. You will NOT regret it

o and believe it or not, this place has Wi-Fi!!!

Wow! This place is incredible. The owner couple Theo and Marcus are really amazing hosts. We spent a really amazing week here, with Marcus taking us everywhere, from river tubing, to swimming at the Rio On Pools at Mountain Pine Ridge, to karaoke nights at a wicked little cocktail bar, and the best and cheapest tacos in town!

The rooms here are super elegant and very dreamy, you live in the trees. The bathrooms have hot water in the showers and all is clean and well serviced. The food that Theo prepares is really amazing, and I have never like coconut rice as much.

This is the place to stay for 3 nights or more, escape in the tranquil beauty of the nature that surrounds you. There are plenty of birds to watch, and see iguanas falling sleepily out of trees into the pristine river. The best part is that this is just outside of San Ignacio and the village is much calmer and more quiet and down to earth. Treat yourself, its well worth the stay!

It is family-run, and we definitely felt like part of the family. Friends of theirs would come over (actually at this time there wasnt anyone else in any of the cabanas other than friends of theirs) and everyone we met was very fascinating, and had a lot of "local scoop" & good tips for seeing the country. Our room (#6) was fantastic (we avoided the treehouse, it seemed pretty tiny). Very basic rooms to be sure, it's a jungle lodge, still it was my favorite room of the 2 week trip, even though we stayed at some $130US a night places. This was way cheaper. They'll cook great food for you and you can grab sodas and beers out of the fridge (just mark it on your bill), and they were so helpful as far as things to see & do. Loved all the family pets running around (I saw another reviewer complain about the caged parrot, which I didnt approve of either, until I realized the bird was crippled). The place just made me feel kind of at home, which ironically is a much nicer feeling when you're in another country, than being "pampered" at a fancier kinda resort. Parrot Nest was almost my favorite part of the trip - as it sort of set a nice base for all of the actual "out and about" activities we did in the Cayo.

We stayed here for 4 nights straight from the plane in Belize City. I could not have imagined a better first place to spend a few days in Central America. Owners are very down to earth and the rooms are wicked (we slept in a tree house). While it is a little bit out of San Ignacio, I would still consider sleeping here instead of downtown San Ignacio since the collectivo taxis are fairly cheap or you can most likely hop in with Mark on his trips downtown.
