“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2012

We loved this site - it was so different from the other one we went to. It's very compact, and the structures aren't huge, but it's extensively excavated, and you can walk through many of the rooms, tunnels, and stairwells. They're still doing a lot of work on parts of the site. Well worth the time!

“Not bad”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

Stopped off at Cahal Pech on the way to the Actun Tunich cave. The museum was handy but small and the ruins not very extensive. It's a useful stop if you're in San Ignacio, but if you're interested in this, try to head to Xunantunich, down the western Hwy near the border. It's not very far away and is a far grander complex.

“Great Affordable Self Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

Cahal Pech is located very near San Ignacio town and for a small fee you can explore the entire site. If you are lucky, an archeologist might be there who will gladly tell you all about the active research happening at the site. Easy and awesome, don't miss it.

“Self guided tour with limited information”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 19, 2012

The ruins are quite fascinating, but there are no guides or signs to help you make sense of of the buildings. One hour is about all you need. $10 entry fee.
