We stayed for 4 days at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel on vacation with my family. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We ate all our meals at the hotel's restaurant and fell in love with their Cayo Bollo appetizer (for which they gave us the recipe). We ate outside and watched the birds by day and the bats (yes, bats) by night. The resort is in a great location for day trips to all the local activities. Delonie set up 3 great day tours for us: Rio Frio Cave and Pools, Tikal (in Guatemala), and ATM. We stayed in room 132 - which is their Family room. It was a little smaller than I expected but it worked great and had a great view of the jungle. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Wonderful hotel and great, caring staff, who made this a really comfortable and exciting adventure in the jungle for us. We stayed in the luxurious suite overlooking the jungle, pool, amazing sunrises, birds, iguanas, etc. Walked to town for dinner (Hannah's) and to Cahal Pech ruins to explore. Perfect location for getting to explore the area and experience the people of San Ignacio. Everyone there - esp. Patrice who arranged everything, and our cave guide Ted - were helpful and fun to learn from.

This is probably one of the best hotels/resorts on Belize's mainland. All of the staff were extremely nice and helpful. The restaurant provided excellent meals. The rooms were clean, and there was an excellent choice of channels on the TV. The hammocks on the balconies was a very pleasant surprise.

This was our first trip to Belize. We worked directly with the hotel to book the rooms as well as the excursions. They bent over backwards to make every accomidation for us. Unfortuanely on the way to Belize a hurricance developed and flooded some of the caves and forced us to cancel some of our trips. Instead of just saying sorry Delonie made it her priority to reschedule excursions that compared to the cost we paid orginally and made our stay amazing. The staff was great and the location was great for those who like to explore the towns and the jungle. Through all our trips we had our own guide, Ted. Amazing guy who was very patient and knowledgable of local attractions. If you go to belize and plan on taking excursions to Myan ruins or caves you MUST stay here! We will go back eventually and when we do we will go back here.

We spent 2 weeks at the San Ignacio hotel and it could not have been better. The facility itself is very nice, probably the best in all of Cayo, and the staff was wonderful and accomodating. I would highly recommend using San Ignacio Hotel to base your stay while in Cayo. We travel to Belize often and always stay here when we are in Cayo.

Stayed here in July 2010 with my wife and 10 year old daughter.
Staff were very friendly and knew our names. Very polite at all times Most seemd to know our schedule(it was booked through the hotel). All the staff were very knowledgeable about the local area, fauna and wildlife.
The hotel itself is in the top of a steep but short hill(not a problem for me but don't think about going up or down it in a wheel chair or if you have any walking problems).
We booked our trips through the hotel and most went smoothly. Our horseriding trip was not what we had booked but we did not know that until after ride. We spoke to the hotel and they made every effort to fufill the missing part of the trip. Unfortunatley the river was high so we could not cross the river to Xunantunich. Instead they took us to Cahal Pech for no extra cost.
The food was excellent. I was expecting the standard type of hotel food, I was very happy with the quality of the food and service. If I were staying elsewhere in San Ignacio at least grab a meal there(it's worth the walk up the hill).

Our driver from and to the airport and for most of our excursions was Ted. He was excellent. Friendly, funny, all round nice guy. It was great to talk to him to get more insight on Belize and it's people. He went out of his way to help us. Once he found out our horseback riding was messed up he offered to take us to the Mayan ruins in his own car! he also saved us 2-3 hours at the ferry port in Belize by going the other embarkation point to find out the bext ferry time. I cannot speak to highly of him.

Overall a great place to stay. May not be the cheapest but it is value for money.
