We stayed at the SIRH for 5 nights during the first week of September. We are so happy we decided on this hotel! The hotel is beautiful, and our room was very nice, spacious, and clean. We had a deluxe balcony room that overlooked a garden space and the jungle beyond. Very peaceful! Our room was close to the main lobby, but we never had noise problems. Everyone at the hotel was great and so nice! We were impressed at how quickly they responded to any requests or questions we had. They were so helpful with everything, and Onil helped us prepare for our excursions. All the facilities at the hotel were very nice, and the pool was a refreshing way to relax after a full day (they also have a varied drink menu to assist with unwinding). The iguana project is also a lot of fun!

The restaurant (for which I will do a separate review) was really good! We had a number of breakfasts and dinners there (and one lunch). The food was always delicious. The restaurant opens at 7am, and if you have an early tour, you can place an order the night before, and they will have it ready early for you. Very convenient!

The hotel's location is excellent! Very easy walk to/from town (and not a long walk to Cahal Pech). We were able to go to town for breakfast and dinner without any problems, and our tours were able to pick us up directly from our hotel. Since we had so many things planned while we were there, we really appreciated the ease in getting around -- and were glad we had not stayed at one of the more remote jungle lodges (we drove by some on our way to Caracol, and it was around an hour from San Ignacio to some of them -- that would have made getting to many of our tours much more difficult).

I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return!

Room Tip: Deluxe balcony room was very nice and in a good location within the hotel.

My husband and I stayed here with our 4-year-old son in late August for 4 nights. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. The staff could not have been nicer and more thoughtful, especially to our son. The iguana project was a definite highlight, and Bert was delightful! Cruz was an great guide through the Mayan ruins and Onil and Lissel were welcoming and kind from start to finish. The town is delightful and easily walk able. The food is very good, but definitely check out the local restaurants as well. The staff can offer great recommendations. We will definitely go back. Our son has some iguanas to check on.

I am visiting Belize and went to San Ignacio for 2 days and 1 night and ate and slept at the hotel. The food was very delicious and a good size portion. The room was fit for a king or queen hence the name Regal with flower petals both in the bedroom and bathroom. The service was excellent everywhere. Visit Belize and treat yourselves to a few days at the hotel. It will be the first of many visits. What you see on the internet is what you will get. NO doctored photographs.

The San Ignacio resort and hotel was great. We stayed for one night here, after returning from a day trip to Tikal. The room was clean, there was AC, the shower was awesome, and the front desk was extremely helpful and attentive. We also did a tour of the Iguana Conservatory, which is on the hotel grounds, and that was a really great experience. Our guide was informative and clearly enjoys his job, and we had fun with all the iguanas. The jungle medicinal trail is also on the hotel grounds, but we didnt' get a chance to see that. It was an overall great experience and would recommend this hotel if you want to stay within the walking distance to the center of San Ignacio.

San Ignacio Resort Hotel is excellent. The room was large and clean. I recommend the rooms with a balcony. It is worth the extra cost.. Staff provided excellent service. The rum punch is very tasty. If you want to save a buck or two, buy the punch without the rum and bring you own rum. Belize is much more expensive than Guatemala.

I would have give them 5 stars if the pool was cleaner. They could have a dead body floating at the bottom of it and no one would know for days. Besides that, it was great!

Room Tip: Rooms further away from pool are quieter.

The Hotel was beautiful and clean. Service and staff could not be more friendly or accommodating. The food in the restaurant was quality and delicious and reasonably priced. The bedrooms were beautiful, spacious, clean, showers had ample water pressure and space to move around in..The beds and pillows were 1st class. I'm basing that opinion on our stays at a Hilton, Marriot, Hyatt, Crown Plaza and several other hotels that we have visited over the years. We were there for our son's wedding Sept 1st, 2013, from the USA and had a BLAST !!! The food served at the wedding reception there in the Hotel was fantastic, as was the wedding cake. Activities and sites surrounding the hotel area, galore. If you didn't enjoy yourself while in Belize, then you didn't want to.

Room Tip: did not use the fitness center or spa...

My family of four (2 teenage boys) stayed at San Ignacio in August 2013. The hotel was immaculate, the customer service was beyond excellent and the food delicious. From the hotel we zip-lined, hiked, did cave tubing, explored ruins and every tour was well organized, small/semi-private or private with a very fun, knowledgeable guide. The hotel staff were so attentive to my son's Celiac Disease and after telling only one waiter the entire staff knew not to cross contaminate his food. The entire experience was wonderful and we all highly recommend the resort!
