“The Best Place in Belize!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

We recently made our second trip to Belize. Of all the places we have visited and stayed, this resort is the BEST! From the staff at the front desk, to the landscaping crew, to the restaurant staff; there isnt any place better to stay! The entire staff made us feel as if we were the only ones in the resort! We would like to say thank you to Haydee, Melissa, Jason, Rueben, Eddy and all of The Resort Staff!!!! We will see you all again soon!!!

The rooms are comfortable and clean. The patio and dinning area are comfortable. The staff is excellent and responsive. Everyone was friendly, the front desk, the bartender and the restaurant staff. Food was good and reasonable. Aaron in the bar makes an awesome mudslide. We stayed 3 nights during the off season, and staff made us feel like they really wanted us. The restaurant staff willingly provided us with breakfast before open hours on the day we went to Tikal in Guatemala. There is plenty to do in the area. Our group of 8 would definitely recommend this place.

The staff are excellent, from the restaurant waiters to the front desk and house cleaning. With typical Belizean polite friendliness they make you feel special and well cared for. The food is wonderful, and tastefully put together - dessert is dangerously good! LOVED that bedtime chocolate!

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights last week. Everything from the staff, to the rooms and quality of the overall service was outstanding. My husband ordered the porterhouse steak from the restaurant, not only was it great value, but the best porterhouse that he has ever had and it coverd the whole plate.
We did a tour from the hotel to Caracol with Cruz and the depth of his mayan knowledge was excellent. We also did the bird watching tour with Eddie and even though it may sound a bit of an "older" thing to do it was fantastic and every interesting.
From the hotel it was an easy 5 min walk to the town and 10 mins in the other direction to a mayan ruin.
The only critism that I do have is that we did a 9+ hour tour with the hotel and was told that there would be water provided for us. We only got one 300ml bottle each so my recommendation is to double check this or bring extra yourself.
We made good use of the pool, the hammock on our patio and the free wifi.
I would stay here again if I were to go back to San Ignacio!

Room Tip: Get one with a hammock!

We were there in the off season so there were few people there. The staff was very friendly and attentive and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The little fresh flowers in our bathroom everyday was an especially nice touch. This is a perfect "jumping off point" for exploring the region. I wouldn't change a thing!

My boyfriend and I stayed here in late August 2012. We had a great time here and would highly recommend it to anyone. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and air conditioned. We had a garden view deluxe room. It includes a little patio space with a hammock. The restaurant at the hotel has great food. I highly recommend the banana pancakes for breakfast and the Maya steak for dinner (so good!!!). You can eat on the restaurant's patio and see a variety of tropical birds in the morning. The hotel staff is also top-notch. They're friendly, helpful, and professional. Before arriving, I emailed with many questions and I received prompt and helpful answers. I highly recommend touring the hotel's Green Iguana Project. It's a fun, educational tour and they let you hold and take photos with some of their many iguanas. I also loved the pool area. A great place to relax after a day of tours. In short, we loved staying here and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Personalized touches, a truly wonderful staff and high quality accommodations make this hotel a must. The beds are so comfortable you won't want to wake up in the morning. Were it not for the iguana rescue center and delectable restaurant waiting just outside your room (try the steak and eggs – they are to die for), it would be easy to pass an entire stay indoors. Kristen, one of the owner's daughters, is an incredible host – her family is very influential in terms of San Ignacio's history, and she has loads of stories about her grandfather and her lineage. All meat in the restaurant is grass-fed and from the family's organic farm. As another fun fact, the queen of England once stayed here.

Make time for a visit to San Ignacio Resort Hotel. You won't regret it. I can't wait to go back!
