Service excellent however the safe in my room did not without keys to lock the cottage, gave me worry in what would have been a perfect stay. How does one expect to keep their passport safe during their water activities? Pristine grounds, clean infinity pool, the best mixed drinks in Belize. Wish I had stayed longer.

This place knows what they are doing in all aspects. Service, lodging, food, communications and excursions were outstanding. This is a truly special and unique place and we definitely plan on coming back.

We spent 2 nights at Chaa Creek in the Camp Casitas. glamping (glamorous camping). Spectacular location, beautifully kept grounds, wonderful/helpful hosts, excellent food, clean bathrooms, hot running water for the showers. LOVED this visit. Two nights was good.

This is how it works..... you check in at Chaa Creek, you can use all the facilities and services at Chaa Creek (and you are always treated well). The desk contacts the camp. The host family drives over, picks you and your luggage up and drives you the 5 mins on steep dirt roads to the camp (and back at the end of your trip). From there you can take the 12 min walk on the Medicine Trail back to the Chaa Creek for any activity out of the camp. The host family of the camp have run it from its inception 24 years ago. It is a very welcoming family friendly place.

I don't often review properties where every superlative has already been used, but I believe Chaa Creek warrants special mention. As others have noted, the accommodations, food, setting, and service are all top notch. I think what sets the property apart is the role it plays in the local community; you will meet many employees who have been at Chaa Creek for years or even decades, and clearly love what they do. This is especially true of the guides. If you go to Chaa Creek, ask for Ricky, who has been around since the 1980s, and is incredibly knowledgeable about the local culture, wildlife and flora. We also had a terrific canoe ride down to San Ignacio with Alex-- highly recommended for bird lovers. Finally, I splurged for a body polish and manicure at the spa- both were lovely. Two tips: 1) everything is damp, damp, damp, meaning it's harder to re-wear clothes after a day in the jungle because they never really dry; 2) the property is hilly with one steep set of stairs up to the spa/butterfly garden and can be slippery so for the less fit among us (like me), walking poles are good to have.

It’s not only Cheers where everyone knows your name.
The staff at Chaa Creek pride themselves on knowing your name.
When you head to the bar, (where all of the drinks are made with the freshest of ingredients) you’ll be greeted by the most friendly staff...(Umberto, Louis, Hilberto, France, & Armaine)
Just to mention a few.
Your world class dining is served by Alice, Epi, Tishi, and many other wonderfully, friendly and accommodating staff.
Everything made here is very fresh and is extremely well balanced from a flavor perspective.
The grounds are meticulously manicured by a staff led by Jiggy. Even the River trail which leads you to the canoes is painstakingly maintained.
There are many on-site tours and activities such as horseback riding, swimming in the luxurious pool, hiking, Medicine trail guided tour, Safari, spa, Open hearth cooking experience- Luby was our instructor and was absolutely wonderful! There is a workshop near the horse stables where most of the beautiful, mahogany furniture is made.
If you prefer piece and quiet, this place is also perfect for that.
What I mention here is a scratch on the surface of the wonderful experience to be had at Chaa Creek!
We will absolutely be back!
