Upon arrival at Chaa Creek we were greeted with peppermint towels and fresh tea. After a tour of the grounds we were shown our room, an upgrade, to a suite with the jacuzzi outside, a piece of heaven! The entire staff was amazing; professional, accommodating, fun, and generous! The restaurant was amazing as was the service! We left for the beach three days after our arrival and compared everything else on our trip to our time at the Lodge. We will be back!!'

We stayed at Chaa Creek as part of 3 centre trip to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
A trip to Belize has been on my wish list for a while, and it was wonderful to have this dream come true. We flew from London to Miami stayed overnight then flew down to Belize City, were we were picked up by the Chaa Creek staff. We loved every thing about Chaa Creek, the staff are lovely, the rooms very nicely decorated in theme with the surroundings, the pool area quite and relaxing, all clean and well kept ( which can't be easy in a jungle setting) all great, because of the lay out and all the trips you can do, it often felt you had the place to yourself, we loved getting close to nature No TV, limited wifi, bliss! just chilling listening to the crescendo of night time jungle noises, and Howler Monkeys. sipping delicious cocktails, AMAZING we loved it even the large bugs in the room, you are in the jungle remember! and it must be said luxury jungle at that, the Spa is a real treat, and beautifully done, the massage from Anna was so good i had two!
We loved the night time jungle walks, and early morning bird watching, very knowledgeable guides. we did the trip to Xunantunich, Barton Creek Caves and Tikal which was impressive but found the atmosphere of Guatemala a bit scary, was great to get back to Belize, was like coming home. We found the food to be a bit hit and miss, some days very good, and other times not very good, on our wedding anniversary we had a special dinner by the pool which was lovely but my fish was so hard it was inedible, which was a shame.
All in all an amazing experience, highly recommended.

Room Tip: all the rooms are private and lovely.

The moment we stepped onto the grounds at Chaa Creek we felt we were in another world with all of the nature sounds. The staff is outstanding, very friendly, warm, and helpful. There is so much to say, so I will try and keep it simple with lists:
PROS:
- the staff, including the tour guides who were warm, friendly, fun to be with and informative.
- The Pool. Relaxing, open all day and night with service from the bar offered.
- Many opportunities for excursions/adventures. I HIGHLY recommend the actun tunichil muknal cave adventure if you can swim, don't mind getting wet and being in small dark spaces.
- Wifi available in the dining and bar area
- Loved the medicine trail on site along with the museum that accompanied it.
- Didn't get a chance to see the butterfly exhibit or history museum but loved that this was an option.
- Beautifully decorated rooms.
- THE SPA! I had an outdoor massage by Anna called "the coma", it literally is one of the best massages I have ever had.
- Very tasty fresh baked bread every night.
CONS:
- No Air condition. This was something we were not aware of until we arrived and it was a struggle to sleep through the night with only ceiling fans to keep us cool. I think had we known that there wasn't AC, we would have considered another site. We came at the end of May, which is very hot.
- bugs in the room. I guess it's to be expected in the jungle, but is a slight annoyance.
- the music played during dinner (!) Mostly 70's 80's tunes. Would have been more enjoyable to listen to ambient local music.
- the bath products offered did not have a great scent and didn't feel of good quality. I know that they are probably eco-friendly, but I wonder if there is a way to offer eco-friendly bath products that smell like essential oils or something better than what they currently have.
Over-all, I cannot reiterate enough that the staff was truly outstanding. When we arrived they had upgraded us to a jacuzzi suite. They were so warm and friendly and always willing to help. We loved our tour guides, Alexi and Hugh. Rose was so wonderful and flexible when it came to planning our excursions.

Room Tip: We stayed in room number 5 which felt private and offered a lot of space. Since it was so hot, I sle...

This was our first trip to Belize and Chaa Creek made everything perfect. They arranged transport from Belize City, handled all aspects of our day trip to Tikal, and coordinated adventures at Barton Creek Cave and ATM cave exploring. Rooms were very nice, with both indoor and outside showers, a nice patio with hammocks. Although it was somewhat distant from San Ignacio, we never felt too remote. The food was spectacular. The dinner menu changed every night and everything we had wonderful. Lunch and breakfasts were equally great. My wife and I would highly recommend the Lodge at Chaa Creek to anyone looking an adventurous and comfortable/relaxing vacation destination. We will be back!

Room Tip: Rooms 8-9 (I think) have the best view of the river and have individual hot-tubs.

In fairness I must begin by acknowledging that when you go into the jungle, there will be bugs, and there were.
Chaa Creek is incredible - it's beautiful, clean, excellent staff, amazing rooms, good food. It's very hot in Belize in April and there's no air conditioning in the rooms. There are fans and screens in lieu of windows, but the heat was still somewhat stifling. We spent the first two nights in a jacuzzi garden suite. Such a lovely room with plenty of space, a wonderful bathroom (great shower and separate large jacuzzi). However, there was a four inch scorpion in our room the first night. Clearly not the fault of the resort, but none the less unnerving.
As per our request and reservation, after the first two nights we moved into a treetop suite, the same one Prince Harry stayed in. It was one of the loveliest rooms I have ever experienced. We were right beside the river and surrounded by trees and huge beautiful plants and towering bamboos. It was amazing! The room was huge and beautifully decorated. During the day I heard howler monkeys and in the early evening listened to the cicadas. I watched the river flowing and drank piña coladas. It was almost dreamlike. Only thing is the roof is a thatched roof and with that comes bugs. I woke up one night because I felt something crawling on my face. It was a cockroach - yuck!! Another night it was a moth. The grasshoppers are prehistoric in size. On the up side however, the lizards and birds were so cool, several variations of both and all so beautiful! Clearly I like reptiles and birds, just not bugs. Surprisingly Mosquitos were not a problem and I only got a few bites (don't even want to think about what bit me).
The infinity pool was the best and such a relief from the heat. The food at both the bar and restaurant was delicious! Staff was perfect in every way.

Room Tip: In the jacuzzi garden suite the bed has a screen on top so when/if something falls down from the tha...

If I could give Chaa Creek an extra star, I would! It's an elegant, beautifully landscaped family run eco-oasis in the middle of some of the most beautiful rain forest you'll find. The owners are passionate about making you stay memorable (they set up a romantic dinner for us with tiki torches and candles by the pool when they found out we were on our honeymoon!) and the staff are all extraordinary - some have been working there for 20 years, and everyone is friendly, helpful, and astonishingly knowledgeable. We stayed in room 10, a large, three-level villa with a thatched roof and a jacuzzi tub on a private deck overlooking a river - apparently, Prince Harry stayed in this room when he visited, and it's certainly suitable for royalty. The food is really good, and it seems they're looking into ways to make it world class, and integrating foods they grow on the property. The prices are completely reasonable for what you get (had one of the best 90 minute massages of my life - for $100) and the owners go to pains to help their employees save money as well as earn it, and are dedicated to employing as many people as they can. They also host disadvantaged children for a week each year at their own expense and provide them with a fun-filled week of activities. This approach and the environmentally friendly practices made me feel that my tourist dollars were well spent, and given all there was to do, both on the property and nearby (ask the friendly staff to arrange a tour with one of their in-house guides to the ATM cave - an incredible adventure featuring a cave entrance worthy of Indiana Jones, cave formations that look like they're from another planet, and well-preserved remnants of Mayan rituals, including human sacrifice! And, try not to miss the Saturday market in town...), I could have stayed for a month! We were so sorry to leave, and hope to return!

Room Tip: Rooms 9 and 10 are extraordinary, but all of the rooms seemed to be truly unique. Also, if you'...

This place is truly a gem in the heart of the jungle!
I would also like to take a moment to thank;Miguel for the wonderful tours and all the knowledge. Rose for all the great advice and the suggestions for tours.
To Jessica and Rosanna for all of your great service and kindness at breakfast to get our days started.
Thank you Maria for the delicious homemade pepper salsa and hand made tortillas. I actually woke up this morning wishing I had the salsa here in Placencia! Wiki thank you for always starting the day off with a smile and positive energy.
Jesus and Saul thanks for the great times and fantastic drinks at the bar.
And last but certainly not least a special thanks to Bryony along with with her two companions "foxy and macali" for providing this true oasis for everyone to enjoy! And finally Bryony thank you for the book. What a suprise that was.
Don't change a thing and we will see you next year. Be safe and God bless you all.
