We booked our trip to Cow Mountain/Crystal Cave with Hun Chik and did not know what to expect. Our guide Rudy and driver David were fun and friendly. Rudy is exceptionally knowledgable (my family nicknamed him Google) about not only cave systems and how they form, but knows a great deal about Mayan and other local history. In addition, he cares about the environment and preserving sights for others to see in the future. The three teenagers in our group all said that history in school should be as interesting as Rudy made it! The cave is nothing short of spectacular and a thrilling adventure as well. Rudy stopped frequently so that we could soak it all in and ask questions if we wished. Rudy packed us a delicious burrito lunch and after the hike took us over to Blue Hole for a quick swim and cool down. There were many Mayan artifacts in the cave and the formations were awe inspiring. We had such a fantastic time, two days later we requested Rudy and David for a trip to Barton Creek Cave. Barton Creek Cave felt very spiritual. On this trip we learned about bats, fish, more Mayan culture and Mennonite culture. Again, Rudy encouraged us to be leisurely and enjoy the sights around us. Luis at the main office in San Ignacio was accomodating and easy to work with. You can't go wrong with these guys. Book a tour with them and have the adventure of a lifetime.
