This lodge was by far our favourite place in Belize. It is beautiful and the property is stunning. We were entirely spolied here. The accomodation is deluxe, the staff are awesome, the adventures are unforgetable. Definately go and have the time of your lives!

We stayed here April 5-7 for part of our 20 yr anniversary. I cannot begin to tell you how well we were treated. From Mr.Anderson himself to the staff, you could not meet a better bunch of people. The daily trips that were offeredand the family type atmosphere was perfect. Thanks for great memories

It has been one year since our stay at Caves Branch. This year for spring break, we took our kids (12 and 11) to Beaches resort in Turks and Caicos. it was lovely...but all it did was make us realize even more just how special and magical and wonderful Belize was, and Caves Branch in particular. At Caves Branch, everyone was like a big family, and the spirit of the place just transcended. Going out all day to do cave tubing or horseback riding or whatever, then coming back to the pool and dinner was just the best. For next year, we are looking for ideas that are more like Caves Branch....either in South America or anywhere, really. Any other travellers have any suggestions?

After reading such roaring great reviews all over the media, we visited Cave's Branch at the tail end of our 2010 New Year’s vacation. Didn’t know what to expect but knew that we should not expect a resort facility.

But to our dismay, it's not that flexible and relaxed environment as we would have expected for a Jungle accommodation in Belize especially with the prices paid for the accommodation and activities....

Overall, it's a beautiful/hidden gem location in a dense rain forest with far apart nice/spacious accommodations but staying there felt like living in a disciplined boot camp or under a regime to some extent since things are setup with quite some restrictions … E.g. meals are served at very particular times and that also in buffet/camping style. And If one doesn't choose an already setup package (which by the way is quite expensive), get ready to pay high prices for meals/activities since there is really no other option for miles; remember you are in a jungle ...

Also, most of the activities are done through Caves Branch management which means it's convenient but quite expensive due to their monopoly ... There is a good system to learn, sign-up and then make friends during various tours but no one informs visitors about best attire and things to carry for particular tours. Mind you, these are not just normal bird watching tours ... So, we felt under prepared for the tours since surprise factor was lot of fun but unpreparedness wasn’t fun...

Overall, it’s fun if you are fine with enjoy rain forest by having an expensive vacation with regimented meal plans and restricted tours with high prices …

Room Tip: Book way ahead of time and try to negotiate ...

we stayed at the resort for 7 days. the adventures into the caves are truely awesome. The food was average. The desserts were passable. For breakfast the yogurt was excellent. The rooms had cockroaches but were otherwise kept very clean. saw some wildlife including howler monkeys, spider monkeys and catfish in the caves. Tours were excellent. the visit to the blackhole was exceptional

I jusy returned from Belize after a ten day stay at the Cave Branch Lodge (MARCH 07 -17, 2011). It was by far one of my best trips to Central America. Ian & Elle Anderson live at the Lodge. The Staff is the friendliest bunch of people I've ever met. The Guides are extremely Knowledgeble about their various tours and the history of the area. During my stay, I was on five different adventures. All were run with safety as their priority. I'm sure that within the next year or so I'll be back for a visit

We stayed at Caves Branch Jungle Lodge for 2 nights, primarily to go cave tubing. The setting of the lodge is great with a beautiful pool area by the river. We had booked into the bunk house but as they were so empty we were upgraded to a bungalow which was a very nice surprise. The dining room, which is open to the jungle is also lovely, but mealtimes felt a bit 'summer camp' and I didn't think the food was worth the price paid. There wasn't a lot of choice, but that may be because we were there in low season. Don't forget to take a torch with you as they recommend checking the path for snakes on the way back to your room!

Anyway, on to the tour, which I would highly recommend. We did the half day cave tubing tour and there was only us and a family of 4. Please see my blog for a description of the tour and photos:
