“Something definately different”

We stretched our wings and chose cave tubing with Claudia and Bob C at Jaguar Paw in Belize. Good opportunity to see the countryside. Lots of time on the bus but the most important thing to making your experience memorial is to be prepared for the terrain! Be prepared to walk a fairly long distance. Wear shoes that will protect your feet from the large rocky gravel that paves the trail. I wore water shoes that are great when you are in the water, but offer little to no comfort for the long walk. I would sacrifice a pair of tennis shoes if I were to do it again. Be prepared to ford the river as the trail continues on the other side. I do have to admit I am not one for walking and I have some foot problems - so if I made it, you can too. The guide was unbelievable and actually carried my tube for me. Guess he didn't want to have to deal with a casualty. It was a unforgettable experience for all the right reasons. Good friends, uplifting natural wonder, glad we went.

“Adventure which needs to be taken when in Belize”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013

We chose cave tubing at Jaguar Paw as a shore excursion while in Belize. The bus trip to Jaguar Paw was definitely a little longer than anticipated and the weather was horribly wet. However, considering that you are going in an inner tube into a cave anyway, so what's a little rain? There isn't a quick and easy way into Jaguar Paw and you had to transfer from the tour bus into a smaller bus once inside the park. Once at the park, you can rent a locker to store your belongings, grab an inner tube and hardhat with headlight, and hike on over to the river. The hike is not for those persons who are not stable on your feet, although it can be done. Cruising down the river on your inner tube with your tour guide is a great experience. Our tour guide happened to be of Mayan descent and provided our group with an awesome learning experience of Mayan history and beliefs. After the tour, we were provided with a complimentary rum punch, with the option of purchasing food. Please, try the Mayan tacos...they are awesome!! Also, if you are so inclined, purchase the pictures that were taken of you as you hiked along the trail...there are no other opportunities once you leave the park. Bring a water proof camera WITH a flash, as you will need the flash to take pictures within the cave. Overall, I believe that this is an adventure which needs to be on the top of your bucket list when visiting Belize.

“Awesome excursion.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2013

We had the best time doing this. Would definitely do it again. The cave tubing was awesome. An experience of a lifetime. The roads and bus drivers are a bit crazy. Downtown Belize was very dirty and didn't feel comfortable there at all. So in the end I'm glad we did this.
