“Pretty but not much wildlife”
Reviewed May 14, 2012

We were there close to the middle of the day and didn't see much wildlife. But pretty trails and we heard that you could float down the river in an inner tube which sounded like fun.

“Bring the Family!”
Reviewed March 15, 2012

Jaguar Paw is now under new ownership and is now called Crystal Cave and now caters to the cruise ship lines coming to Belize City. Many more visitors than in prior years but most leave the park by early afternoon as they head back on the buses to the cruise ship. We had a private tour by Belizean guide named Oscar. He was was an expert on the everything we saw during the 2 hour hike and rafting tour through the caves.

“Must do”
Reviewed February 3, 2012

We stayed in Placencia Village and had a rental car. We drove up to Caves Branch and got there about 11 pm. They told us their tours all started at 9pm and they had nothing until tomorrow. They did tell us there was another cave tubing place up by Belmopan but it closed at noon & we wouldnt have enought time to get there. We decided to give it a try as we had to head that direction to get some lunch anyway. We arrived right at noon and at the enterance to Jaguar Paw (different name now but cant remember what they call it now) and there was several tour guides standing by. We negotiated a price ($50 each including tubes and headlamps) and headed six miles up the road to the park. Our guide was excellent-he knew every plant species and explained all we wanted to know about the jungle and then some. We even tried (tasted) termites-minty flavor, who would of thought! The jungle walk was about 30 minutes or so. Inside the cave was pitch black except for our headlamps. There were many large room we went through. The water was still so you had to paddle with your hands and arms. It was pretty cool we saw lots of stalagmites and stalactites and lots of different formations and one very large one called the 'waterfall.' We were in the cave for about 1.5 hours. Because we got there so late, our group of five was the only ones in the cave. It was nice having it all to ourselves. Our guide also took us too a see some old pottery inside the cave that was left by the Mayans. Our guide was so knowledgable, I wish I could remember his name. He was from the local town of Teakettle. The tour was well worth the money and was better than I ever thought it would be. I recommend this as it was one of the highlights of the trip. PS--dont go on the days the cruise ship go as I heard it gets very crowded and the tours are much shorter.

Reviewed November 23, 2011

The guides were very helpful and friendly. The cave tubing was defintely worht the money. The ziplining was short but the monkeys int he trees made up for that.
