We followed "dreamster"s post below (that stated do not take the road from Georgeville). CLEARLY THIS PERSON IS UNINFORMED because Chiquibul Road from Georgeville is just as bumpy/unpaved as Chiquibul Road from Santa Elena/San Igancio IF NOT BETTER. Not to mention, the road from Georgeville is shorter (by at least 45 minutes) as well.

We were in a compact car without 4x4 so we ended up skipping this due to the terrible, unpaved road. We weren't sure how much more the car could take AND it took us 1.5 hours to get to the intersection (not even the falls themselves). We inquired about a taxi, but it was insanely expensive & we were told by a local all the taxis are cars without 4x4.

a little off the beaten path, we hrsebacked it here, then 5 minutes down a steep hill(not too hard). clear clean springwater feeds these falls. breathtaking, and you can swim all the way up and into them.

The walk, climb to get to the falls is very difficult and slippery. The rumor is that this will be fixed later in 2013??? The falls are very beautiful, you can jump from rocks into the lower pool and swim in them. The water was warm in mid-January for us.

The falls are located by Five Sisters Lodge and if you are physically fit, it is worth the steep hike up and down. We wanted to swim near the waterfall but it started to rain a little bit and we were afraid of slipping on the rocks so we waded near the trail to be safe. Refreshing and Beautiful!! Worth visiting if you are near Rio On Pools.

This was a great workout as well as a chilly yet refreshing adventure. What a great way to face my fear of heights... might as well jump off a waterfall! Definitely worth the bumpy drive out there! Make sure to bring a waterproof camera to catch the big moments and the look of fear and adrenaline on faces!
