We were in Belize via Carnival Dream on June 11th 2013. We met at our assigned meeting spot in Belize which was through the gates of terminal 4. We were greeted by a coral breeze tour guide and was escorted to their office to pay for the tour and choose what we wanted for our lunch and drink. We had choices such as, roast chicken & rice, grilled chicken sandwich, burrito, grilled cheese and about 3 other items to choose from for lunch. When everyone going on the tour was there we boarded a speed boat. The speed boat was a lot of fun, but you will get wet on the way out to snorkel and wear plenty of sun screen because there is no cover over this boat. We snorkeled at the reef which was beautiful and then we went to Shark/Ray alley where we went in the water with nurse sharks and sting rays. We did observe while on our tour that the cruise ship tour was not getting as much individual attention and did not get to snorkel or spend as much time in the water with the sharks & rays as we did. After the snorkeling adventure we were given water and fresh pineapple. Then we headed over to Caye Caulker for lunch on an outside covered patio at a small resort. I was surprised by how good lunch actually was. Everyone that wanted to drink also had time to buy and enjoy drinks. The resort we had lunch at sold 5 beers for $10. We also had time to walk the sandy streets of Caye Caulker to see what life was like on the island. Then we boarded the speed boat to head back to the mainland. On our way back we stopped to look at 2 dolphins (a mom and her baby) that someone on the boat had spotted. It was a great trip and I am glad (as always) that I booked the tour myself instead of through the cruise line. We had about 20 tourist on the boat and 5 tour guides.
