“Altun Ha Mayan ruins”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

We took a tour of the ruins with Experience Belize Tours and they were fantastic. The guide, Allen, is a native of Belize and very knowledgeable about the native flora and natural cures used by the people of Belize. We didn't realize that tour guides must be licensed and pass a test on Belizean flora, fauna, history and Mayan culture to get their licenses. He was patient when our cruise ship was delayed and, therefore, we were delayed arriving for the tour. He was also super friendly and accommodating about taking pictures of us after we'd climbed to the top of the ruins. Very nice man and very conscientious about getting us back to the cruise ship on time. Highly recommended!

“Great ruins - great experience!”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

We stayed at the Maruba Spa and booked the Altun Ha trip as an extra. We went at 3:30pm and it was the best time to go! We still had great sunlight and we literallly had the place to ourselves! It takes approx 30 minutes to get there and there are many souvenier shops to purchase some beautiful crafts etc. Four of the shops stayed open and waited for us to finish our tour with our guide from the Spa (who was excellent by the way!). You really get to learn about the temple and living spaces and the history. This is the Mayan ruin where the largest jade head sculpture was found (I don't know what museum it's in now). There are other ruins and packages offered by the Maruba Spa but this one was the most convenient if you don't want an entire day trip. Wear comfortable hiking shoes and plenty of bug spray! Also, there is a $5Belize entry fee as of this writing.

“Just us and Tuff E'Nuff”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

We booked a trip with Linden from Tuff E' Nuff on the dock of Belizean Shores. Altun Ha and Cave Tubing! A) they are very professional...everything left on time...Linden took us into town and made sure we had breakfast and that we had our boarding passes and waited with us until we got on the plane. They also timed out the tour so we beat all of the cruise ship passengers to Altun Ha! We spent about 45 minutes walking around the ruins with not a single other person in sight! As we were done and on our way out...floods of cruise ship passengers started making their way in! Then we made our way over to Cave Tubing...again our guide William timed everything out perfectly! We sat and ate our lunch, which was included and was delicious, and as we finished our lunch another group of cruise shipers were finishing up their tubing fun, and that's when we left and began our trip...I think we saw two other people in the cave the whole time. It was perfect! Bring sturdy watershoes with you, as there is a bit of a hike on some rocks which left our feet a bit sore...but the cool water washed that away quickly! For transportation to and from our hotel, breakfast and lunch, air transportation to the mainland and all park and guide fees we paid $225 each...Sounds like a lot, but considering all that we did and saw and how personal our trip was...the price wasn't bad!

“Altun-Ha Mayan Ruins - Experience Belize Tours”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

If you are looking for an awesome tour while in Belize, I highly recommend visiting the mayan ruin, Altun Ha, and choosing Experience Belize Tours as your guide. Allen and his wife Leah were prompt, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable and even stopped in the city for us to try some of the local fare.

My family was so happy with their level of service. We highly recommend them for your tour guide needs.

“Nice ruins”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

This is not a large site, but it is well maintained. The highlight here is being able to climb a few of the pyramids. The views from the top are beautiful. The site itself has interesting history and can easily be learned by having the right guide.
