That was really the best vacation we had! Everything (starting with arrival, welcoming, accommodation, meal and so on and so on) is perfectly organized. Staff is incredibly cordial and nice. Michael is a perfect manager. Cook is genius in making cakes. Our snorkeling master was doing everything to show us sea life. Thank you to everyone at Blackbird resort!
Snorkeling is just perfect. The very first creature we saw right off the beach was eagle ray, then - lion fish, after that - a lot of other fish and sea creatures, including dolphin. We recommend to spend some time exploring corals around island itself, not just taking snorkeling trips. If you want to visit Blue Hole, consider staying for 10 days starting on Saturday, so there are two Tuesdays (Blue Hole trips are scheduled on Tuesdays only). This way you increase you chances to go to Blue Hole.
Do not hesitate - go to Blackbird Caye resort!

Room Tip: We had premium cabana. It's spacious.

Blackbird Caye Resort is the best vacation we have ever had. The dive masters and the absolute best, they can and are more than willing to answer any and all questions, offer tips to make your diving more enjoyable, nice and so fun. Everyone on staff on the island is so nice and helpful. Anything you need, just ask and you have it. We will be going back again and again. WE LOVE THIS PLACE.

This was one of the best vacations I've ever take!. My new husband and I made our visit to Blackbird Caye the second part of our honeymoon and it exceeded all expectations. Michael, the property manager, and his band of brothers (and sisters) were hospitable, helpful, knowledgable, and accommodated us on every request made...down to private in-room dining on our 1-month anniversary & post-Caye appointments for massages at a Belize City resort. Bartender Ran and dining crew Jackie & Aixa, along with the snorkeling guides and divemasters, Chris, Stewart and Joe, were amazing. Judging this place on the staff alone would be a "5-star" rating, BUT then there is the amazing natural beauty surrounding the resort, the comfort of the huts (luxury hotel divas beware, this is not "resort" as in "Four Seasons resort", but clean, comfortable and just right for the atmosphere), and THE SNORKELING. The most beautiful I have seen with opportunity to go out twice a day if you're a snorkeler and 3 times a day for the divers. The reef is the second largest in the world and houses some of the most diverse marine life I have experienced. The waters are clear and temperate & the guides are able to pick the perfect spot for your experience level and type of snorkel desired. The family-style dining created a wonderful family-like atmosphere, the food was fresh, plentiful and delicious and we left after our week on the island with 30 new best friends! This is a family friendly resort, is well-suited for a romantic getaway or honeymoon, group vacation and is even ideal for the solo traveler. All in all, I can't say enough great things about our visit to the Turneffe Atoll!! Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer, but we will be back very soon!

Room Tip: Duplexes near the office have renegade access to WiFi, which is exactly why we were happy to be housed in #10 ( a "superior cabana" room type), far away from civilization.

My husband and I came to Blackbird to celebrate his birthday, dive, and relax. It was perfect. The accommodations were spacious and clean, the staff was always helpful and went out of their way to make everything special. Our dive master, Cardinal, was very knowledgable, and made sure we all had unforgettable experiences. It is quiet, so no TV.. which I loved...and you definitely unplug from the outside. It was a memorable experience, and I can't wait to return. Michael, the manager, does an incredible job ensuring that everyone has what they need to have the ideal vacation. Couldn't have asked for a better way to welcome 2014.. Thank you to everyone at Blackbird!

Room Tip: We stayed in #14 which was at the very end of the resort.. very private, quiet.. Perfect.

My husband and I went to this resort for a short 4-night vacation just after xmas and brought in the New Year there. It was everything we had hoped for. The lodging (cabanas on the beach)was spacious and comfortable with cleaning service daily. Transportation from the airport to the boat and then to the island went very smoothly. We did not dive, we snorkeled. Our guide was Chris, a truly knowledgeable wonderful accommodating guide, taking us to new places each time and taking into consideration the needs of the individuals in each group. Food was good, staff very friendly . The manager Michael was available for questions, concerns etc. The snorkeling was amazingly wonderful. We met nice people on this trip, many families were there and it seemed to be a good vacation spot for all ages.

If you go, take seriously the advice of bug spray. I did not and got bitten repeatedly by what might have been sand flees. My husband did not get a single bite.
