Caye Caulker is the most wonderfully peaceful place to stay, and Tom's Hotel is an ideal lodging to call it a night. My girlfriend and I spent a night in one of the rooms, which gets points for being so cheap, but we really loved the cabanas. A short walk from the ferry and right by the water.

We stayed here on a organised tour. One of the worst places I've ever stayed in. No SOAP at all, not even on the basin for hand washing. The street light and the hallway light stays on all night and both my windows were right near both lights, super bright, like daylight in the room. A drain ran outside my window so even when it wasn't raining, it sounded like it was pouring from my room, frustrating. No aircon and it's super humid in Belize so it's needed. The wifi is only outside, it rained most of the time we were there, so we were all getting wet trying to check wifi. The location is in what we were told, the not so safe area. So the ladies were told not to walk home in the dark alone or without men. So I would recommend staying on the main st, felt totally safe there any time. It's a beautiful island and I just wish we stayed somewhere better to add to the whole experience of Belize.

A friend and I stayed at toms for 5 nights- double bed, shared bathroom, paid 22$usd total per night. There's a beautiful view and the location is on the chiller side of the island. Our beds were clean and pretty comfy, and the ceiling fan kept us cool. It's definitely not luxurious, but I've stayed in some sketchy places and Toms was much better than those. Clear of bed bugs, etc. Can get loud in the hallways. Zeda is very sweet and relaxed (just don't wake her up!). We enjoyed our stay at toms and would stay again. If you're a backpacker who's not looking to stay in a party hostel, this is it!

If you're looking for a cheap and clean place to stay in Caye caulker Tom's is the right place for you.
It's a basic hotel, but the rooms are quite big and really clean, with clean sheet and towels. Bathrooms are shared but clean and with hot water. anyway, caye caulkler is so amazing that you wouldn't spend too much time in your room.

Room Tip: rooms 8/9/10 are just in front of bathroom with hot water :D

I stayed here during my stay in Caye caulker. I was in hut 1 right near the beach and it was very cute. A basic hut with 2 beds and a bathroom - No Ac just a fan. It was close enough to walk to places to eat and drink etc but not very central. There was no wifi in the rooms and no proper place to sit and use WiFi near reception if it was raining. Towels were provided but no toiletries, even though many supermarkets to stock up. Make sure you use a good mozzie spray as we were all bitten badly by sand flies and mozzies!

You will love Caye caulker for it's go slow, island life ambiance. Visit the Reggae bar for a boogie too :)

Room Tip: Huts are very simple and the rooms are similar

Please dont stay here, its far from enjoyable, with street lights blazing through windows at night, to no hot water , no soap even, slaming doors, its not a good location, no air con n its blistering hot. Just awful. Feels like a boarding school set up.

When you think of a basic hotel that's it. There's not even the soap let alone a glass for toothbrushes. The rooms are small and very hot ( no AC) and I seriously thought of sleeping outside. Moreover the windows face a small street with very strong lights and there is no way to screen the windows; it seems to sleep in a prison.... The island is very small but the hotel is in the farthest possible place. If you decide for a holiday on an island choose a more comfortable hotel....
