Great Hostel. Good environment. Clean. Awesome staff. Really good spot to meet and hang out with other people. Out of the many many many hostels I've stayed at all over the world, this is probably 1 of 2 hostels that I will remember over all the rest! I showed up, felt at home immediately, hung out on the hammocks with other guests. And stayed a few days longer than I thought.

I stayed two nights there. Good place, price and staff.
They have shared place and kitchen. I didn't use it, but they have kayak and bicycles.
At Bella's it's very easy to meet people and exchange travel information. I stayed the other hotel one night, but I prefer the atomospher of Bella's.
And I love the wall painting of the hostel!!

This place was like a second home for me, i went for a week and stayed for 2 months.. its a cool place to stay and a great place to meet good people.. most rooms and beds are basic as you'd expect for a low budget hostel but there are some really cool rooms in the above floors with awesome views too. One of the best things about the place was the lounge/dinning area thats centered in the middle of the hostel between the two main dorms which kind of naturally draws everybody together for a comfortable friendly atmosphere. The place has everything you need to stay for a nights stay or a months stay.. showers, toilets, kitchen equipped with pots n pans and utensils, fridge, free communal bikes (and canoes!) to share and take as you please to ride/paddle around the island.. and the guy who runs the place, Jeff, will help you out with in any way he possibly can.. from making sure you have some place to stay and sleep if they're full to finding you some fishing gear to go catch breakfast, lunch or dinner.. and he knows pretty much everyone on the island so he can help you out and give you advice on which tours/trips/activities to go and check out.. If guests at the hostel weren't doing a big friendly communal dinner he would often put together big cook ups of lobster, fish, crab and veges for everyone to enjoy too. There is of course the odd party and rum punch drinking that goes on, so some nights can be a late getting to bed.. but its a hostel and good times are to be expected :)
and while i think about it, there are private cabins separate to the hostel out in the yard.. for couples or if you just feel like your own personal space.
Overall rating? its more than irie! check it out...

I have stayed at Bella's for 3 days in July!
When i was staying here, we were having the party everynight. It was great!!
At that time i was traveling by my self. So i was feeling lonesome a little bit.
But all travellers became friends at Bella's.
And staff has been cleaning up the room everyday. So here was clean!
I was laying on hammock everymorning having some coffee. I loved this time!
It is the reason that i loved Bella's.
I am staying again at Bella's in December.

i arrived at night an was worried they would not have a bed. After being welcomed by other backpackers in the kitchen i was told the place was full but there would not be a problem in sorting something out for the night. I met Jeff the owner who said if i didn't mind i could sleep on the boat out the back. Loved it!! ended up spending a week on the boat then moved into a dorm bed for another week. Really comfortable clean hostel with a homely feeling. never felt over crowded and quite often we had giant feasts which fed the entire hostel. Great location, loved the communal bikes to cruise around on. Jeff was always working on improving the facilities. met some of the best people on my trip there. would recommend it to anyone. Can get a bit of commotion when everyone having drinks but its a hostel, so thats standard. Can't wait to go back, Caye Caulker dreaming!!

Room Tip: The boat and the tower, secret spots!!

Very cool place, near everything, yet far enough, safe and clean. One can say it's the hip place in town with loads of room to party and meet other travellers, and enough place to relax and enjoy the privacy on the boat house or in the cosy wooden cabins.
Cool staff, great view and an excellent place to be, on top of that it's the cheapest!
They guys that run it are really cool, if you ask nicely, you can borrow their bikes and fishing gear.
And watch out for the big mama crocodile in the back yard....thats how awesome this place is, I loved it, I'm sure you would too.

If you can't beat them join them...the advice of another backpacker as we weren't necessarily looking for a party hostel but found it and after a few days I grew accustom to the loud music at all hours, and in spite of some hard beds the people definitely make the atmosphere like any hostel and I'd suggest staying here for a night or two, unless you really value sleep, then just drop by in the evenings and make some new friends.

Room Tip: Definitely check out the top floor room (3 or 4 stories up) it has the best view in all of Caye Caul...
