“OASI and Luciana were terrific!”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

We stayed at OASI on Caye Caulker, Belize for 3 nights in late Dec. 2012. The owner, Luciana, had given us perfect directions of how to catch the ferry from Belize City to Caye Caulker, however, we caught an earlier ferry, and as we were arriving at OASI, there was Luciana sending out a golf-cart taxi to meet us at the ferry dock! She was so welcoming, the room was spacious, clean and decorated, and everything one could need Luciana had thought of. Our room had a queen bed, TV, closet, safe, full kitchen, 5-gallon water cooler and a hammock on the lanai. Her staff is so friendly! She gave us a good map of the island and showed us places for breakfast and dinner, and recommended a great snorkeling "experience". All I have to say about the latter is DO NOT miss Juni The Fish Whisperer! Luciana was always available, always ready to help, and eager to know how you spent your day. We had access to two coaster bikes and used them constantly and they were absolutely perfect for getting around Caye Caulker, and so much fun, too! Places I would recommend include the juice place (near Juni's), Rose's Bar and Grill, and Glenda's (for breakfast). Our flight out was in the evening and Luciana stored our bags and let us use the bikes after check-out and arranged our taxi to get us to the ferry dock. Her taxi driver arranged a taxi from the ferry dock in Belize City to the airport.

Luciana was incredibly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. She arranged for a taxi to pick us up from the airport and take us to the water taxi and then another taxi to bring us from the dock to her inn. She recommended restaurants, tour guides for snorkelling and gave us tips for getting the most of our time here. Our room was clean and comfortable, both inside and outside, where we had our own hammock and two wooden chairs. There even was a clothesline outside our room. It was nice to have our own safe to store our money and passport. Although we weren't in the centre of things, it was a 10-minute walk to the busier part of the island. We could have used the free bikes she provided, but we enjoyed walking everywhere as it was easier to browse. Breakfast is not included, but you can make your own coffee and the galley kitchen in our room was fully stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans and dishes and cutlery as well as a gas oven and stove. There are grocery stores nearby where you can buy fresh fruits, vegetables and anything else you may want. I highly recommend OASI. It's relaxing, quiet, safe and clean.

Room Tip: Room 1 was perfect for two of us. Spacious, quiet and a nice view of the garden.

We spent 6 nights at OASI and it's easy to say that it was by far the best place we stayed on our whole central America trip. Luciana was incredible!!! She helped us with absolutely everything from booking our day trips to helping us sort out flights!

I can't recommend this place enough! Don't think twice - just book it!

Luciana really thinks of everything. There's a safe in the room, separate towels for the beach, all sorts of glasses/cutlery if you choose to dine in, great working wifi, bikes for you to use, basically anything you could need. Our room was clean and well maintained. The only complaint is when you arrive to Caye Caulker by water taxi, it's a bit far to walk with luggage, so you'll need a golf cart taxi, but It's a very minor issue. Once you're settled in, It's only about a 10 minute bike ride into the main part of town.

OASI is a wonderful place to stay on Caye Caulker! My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights after a couple of nights in San Ignacio. I thought this was the perfect place to stay. You walk through the fence into a quiet and peaceful property of palm trees, fountains sand paths. We had apt. #2 which included a thatched roofed porch, outdoor seating and hammock. The room itself was immaculate and beautifully decorated complete with a great shower, kitchenette, dining area, etc. The owner, Luciana is one of the best parts of this stay. Not only does she keep the property and rooms extremely clean and airy, she is very friendly and knowledgeable. This area is quieter and a short bike ride from the center of things, but no worries, your room comes with cruiser bikes:) I encourage you to stay at this gem while you are in Caye Caulker!

Room Tip: Room 2 was perfect for 2...all tile, cool and quiet.

We spent 7 nights at the OASI during the first week in December. Room was clean, large and had a very good air conditioner. Location is great, away from the center of town so it is quite in the evening. It is a quick bike ride to the split (Lazy Lizard) and restaurants. Streets lights are good so there is no problem riding in the evening.

Highly recommended!

Definitely one of the highlights of our Belize vacation! The apartment (#4) is roomy, very nicely decorated. Free bikes. Safe in the living room, large TV. Spacious terrace with a super comfortable hammock, 2 resting chairs, dining table/chairs. Nice garden with a small fountain.

Great location - far enough from the town so it's super quiet but close enough by bike. Much better than the options in town where most lack privacy and calm.

Luciana is great, very friendly, she picked us up at the airport, was available for any questions/recommendations, asked us about our days, booked our early taxi (and woke up early to say goodbye) etc. I particularly appreciate her great attention to detail (decor, bathroom amenities, fresh towels, nicely colored and comfy sheets etc).

I spent time reviewing many options on the island and I can recommend Oasi as the best option for couples with confidence. I'm recommending it to my friends and family!

Room Tip: #4 is the best (on top, and larger terrace)/
