“Not Great”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2013

Three stars might be a little generous for this little potential gem... Maybe I came too late to enjoy the breakfast buffet. I took one look and realized the buffet had probably been sitting out for a few hours... Then I poured a cup of coffee and it was burnt and stale. It had obviously been sitting in the pot for a few hours as well. ICK. I dumped it out on the street, then chose tea instead... That was okay, but the water wasn't as hot as it could have been. I ordered the Cuban Omelet from the menu. It was the best part of the whole experience. Since I didn't try the buffet I can't really say it was not good, but by the general appearance of things it had been sitting too long. I arrived there around 9:40 AM. I told the waiter about the coffee, and he kind of shrugged it off and never made fresh. Not going back to La Cubana again, at least not on this trip.

“Average food in a great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2013

We actually ate here twice during our stay; once for breakfast, and then later in the week for dinner. Breakfast was actually pretty good. Great coffee, best eggs we had while there, and very friendly attentive service. Dinner got mixed reviews for the food, but again very friendly service (which is harder to find on the island than you might think!). By far the best part about this place is the view. Watching the moon rise over the reef erases any small disappointment with the food.

“Authentic Cuban Fare”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2013

Owned by Cuban expatriates, the restaurant offers up authentic Cuban prepared cuisine, that unmistakeable island "sabor." The evening buffet, all you can eat, is rich, hearty and varied. There is interior and beach side seating with colorful decor.

“Best find in town!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2013

If you're looking for the best value feed in town, look no further. For $28 (Belize), you get a huge buffet full of several meat dishes, great sides (potato salad, coleslaw, garden salad, homemade bread), and tea/coffee + dessert (four different homemade cakes, banana bread, biscuits and fruit). But the absolute star of the night was the amazing suckling pig roast. It was the juiciest, tastiest, most tender pork roast I've ever had. They have a special thing going there.
There's seating indoors or you can sit on the sand outside on the water's edge.
The staff are also really friendly, have fun conversations with you that only adds to the great island culture, and always encourage you to eat seconds and thirds rather than glare at you when you return to the buffet!
The only disappointment of the night was that my stomach wasn't big enough to keep eating!

“Roast suckling pig...yummy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

We love pork, and couldn't resist the spit roasted meal. We'd watched it being roasted throughout the day, had spent some time almost next door at the Beach Bar jam session, and couldn't resist the all you can eat buffet at 6:30. All you can eat roast pork complete with crispy crackling, shrimp in curry sauce, vegetables, rice, potatoes, and cake for dessert. Yummy.
