“Beautiful Island with Beautiful People!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2012

I can not believe how beautiful everyones teeth are! They have the whitest and most beautiful smile! This is a very Friendly Island that I truely hated leaving! It is easy to get here, just grab a water taxi from Belize City to Caye Caulker! You will not be disappointed. This Island is very tiny and the only Rush Hour it has is when the Children are on their way to school! Everyone walks, rides bikes or takes a Taxi ( golf Cart). There are very few cars on the Island. In fact we didn't see any except when the barg came in and supplies were being delievered!

I love it here and can't wait to go back. Of course there is crime everywhere but we didn't experience anything bad. Just be sure and be smart and you will have a safe and great time!

“Coral Breeze Tours”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

This tour was fantastic. My mom and I went on a snorkeling excursion during our cruise and this was by far the best snorkeling I have ever done. Our tour guides were knowledgable and fun. We swam through a beautiful reef, swam with nurse sharks and sting rays. If you are on a cruise and need a great excursion this is worth the visit. Coral Breeze tours picks you up at port and you take a small boat over to this great island where you later come back and eat lunch at. Afterwards they make sure you are back to your port on time. If you are visiting Belize, this island is where you should stay or visit as well! I can't wait to visit here again someday!!!

“Away from the hustle and bustle”

Great place to take a chill pill and relax. The beaches are not as busy as San Pedro. It is way smaller than San Pedro.

“Good for short stay”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 29, 2012

The relaxed atmosphere of the tiny island is enjoyable, but there isn't much to do. Most of the appeal seems to be to young backpackers wanting to do some heavy duty partying for a couple nights. Otherwise, once you have walked around a bit and taken a diving or snorkelling trip to Hol Chan (awesome by the way), you've been there, done it.

“Little Paradise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2012

If you are seeking lush resorts and fancy restaurants, go elsewhere and leave Caye Caulker to those of us who can appreciate a slow, relaxed pace, local cuisine, and real-time meshing with the locals.

There are no real "beaches" on the island, but a cement "split" where everyone goes for swimming, snorkeling and a few drinks. There are a couple of fancier restaurants, but it is well worth it to stick to the local vendors and buy cheap and delicious (and safe -- I have a crazy little sensitive stomach and was fine the entire trip). You can find chicken and meat pies, coconut tarts, banana bread, tamales, jerk chicken, etc. etc. at crazy cheap prices and it will be the best food you've ever had!

There is diving, snorkeling, kayaking, wind surfing, paddle boarding, biking, fishing -- you can find someone to help you with any of these throughout the island. I would recommend Ragamuffin Tours for snorkeling, Chocolate's for kayaking, Terry's Grill for food and the best sunset, and Mark's (local vendor) for tamales.

The locals are unbelievably friendly and welcoming -- you will leave with many lifelong friends and memories indeed!
