Dive instructor died at the Blue Hole the day I was there. Not safe, poorly run, shoddy equipment...choose another with higher ratings for this wonderful island on which to dive, Cay Caulker, Belize. There are several good ones.
We booked a padi dive at 9 am which never happened.
We were then gently asked to come back at 10 then 1pm and so on waiting for the "teacher to come by plane" who finally arrived a 5pm...
Big fish made us loose a whole day, they are clearly unprofessional and very cheap in their approach of diving.
The boss even tried to buy us at the end of the day with some sort of discount "50$ each for everyone of you if you still dive"
Avoid this place!!!
Booked a trip to the blue hole with them, was assured that they were 100% going, but after paying in full (make sure to request a receipt), & turning up at the dock early the following morning we were met by a local guy who looked like he'd just stumbled out of the reggae bar & told us that the trip had been cancelled due to "engine trouble" before leaving abruptly after informing us that we could collect our refunds from the shop after it opened at 8am. We showed up at the shop, but the lady told us we would have to come back later as she didn't have the cash. This was after assuring us that the engine had already been fixed (yeah right) & that they would DEFINITELY be going the next day in an attempt to talk us out of asking for a refund. Luckily another guy brought along the cops who told us that the dive boat hadn't been running all week, (contradicting what we had been told by the lady in the shop) & we were soon refunded. At no point were either myself or my fellow divers asked to show our certification cards, nor were we properly fitted for equipment - the lady just took one looked at us & guessed. You will find other much more reputable dive shops on Caye Caulker for the same price, avoid Big Fish!
Big fish diving will book diving to the blue hole, but the boat and equipment is all aqua scuba, so any reviews here not having a good blue hole experience for these reasons it is not actually with big fish.
We found big fish helpful, and the equipment we tried on in their shop to get measurements for aqua scuba all seemed in good condition.
The guys from big fish were also on the dock in the morning to see us off, and the trip was excellent!
This is the most unreliable dive center I now of and the first time in my life that I left a dive center without even diving once.
First the guy said he will take me and group out for a night dive the next evening and I agreed, since I thought it looks a bit crap here but fine a night dive is more or less save. He sounded kind of friendly and wrote down my name to keep me a "spot" for the next day. The next day I went in and another gay said we do not offer night dives today and his colleague from yesterday has not written down anything about me. Since there were a couple of people in the center, I said more then once loud but friendly that I would never dive here.
These guys are unorganized. For a dive we got our wet suit and fins here, then went by boat across the split to get gas. Then to San Pedro to get the BCD and air. After this we went for the two dives. What was a 9-1p trip turned out to be 9-5p trip. The equipment is crap. 5 out of 6 people had to keep changing their regulators until they could find one that was not leaking. Then during the dive, one person after getting in the water found that the regulator was not working properly and their dive was done. Worse, two of us dived and found ourselves at the bottom with no dive master in sight. If you are going on deep dives or night dives, look elsewhere.
