“Awesome place!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2013

This place has a bucket of ice beer - 6 Belikans - for $25.00 ($5.00 is deposit which you get back by returning the bucket) .. although the stores are cheaper, the ice keeps it cold so its worth coming here! TRUST ME! nothing like cold beer with the view by the split.
Never tried the food, but the service is great - always fully staffed. TIP: don't worry about happy hour - the cups get smaller and the discount only applies to rum drinks. Stick to the regular drinks or try Paradise Hotel / Restaurant at the other end of the island for awesome deals.. OR buy bottles from the store like we did ;)

“Reggae-licious!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

This charming two storey bar at the end of The Split in Caye Caulker is the flavor of the island. Picnic tables and chairs sit in the pooled water at the channel, where one can enjoy cold drinks while keeping cool. The crystalline turquoise waters make the eyes dance while taking in the views and listening to the Reggae music pumping from the bar. This is an amazing place to just chillax and take in all that the island offers. Service is great, food is fresh and very tasty, beers are served in plastic buckets generously mounded with ice. Take in the views by the channel where The Split allows the water to come thru. Swim and cool down in the ocean off the broken pier, or just relax and catch some rays while sipping a cold one. Do not miss this spot on your visit to Caye Caulker. A cool, Caribbean treat!

“Drinks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

This is located at the split and was the reason for my whole trip. I saw a write up in the Hartford Courant in January 2013 and just had to check it out. The drinks were great and the sights were even better. For a bar don't expect a lot. It looks rough but a very happin spot.

“Lazy and lounging.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 24, 2013

A day hanging out at the split at the Lazy Lizard is a lounging experience in itself. Picnic tables are partially submerged in the blue green ocean. What a perfect place for a dinner of delicious BBQ 'd barracuda. Have a drink, go for a swim or snorkel, talk with fellow travelers, eat and repeat it all over again. Great place for solo travelers as well. Sunscreen is a must and take care with your garbage.
