This school will give you amazing equipment and their boats are brand new and well equipped BUT people that make this place seem not to be bothered at all. They do not talk to anybody and in between dives they stay with each other away from divers. I felt very strange while diving with them because usually instructors and dive masters talk to you, joke etc so you feel like you have known them for a long time and want to come back asap. This school is just for making money full stop. They also make you ascent on your own when you are low on air which is a practice I have never come across. Dive sites amazing but will not come back to this school and dont reccomen it.

We love being weird! But not in that way:(

It sounds like you just weren't having as much fun as our customers normally do and we do regret that. We are happy that you appreciated the well equipped boat and amazing equipment. We take pride in our standardized maintenance procedures and adherence to worldwide acceptable diving and equipment standards.

Most experienced divers will understand and appreciate that buddy teams that go through their tanks quickly are often sent up to the following boat in drift or "one way" dive situation. Once completing the required 3 minute saftey stop (which you can do with your dive computer which is a standard piece of equipment at BDS) our Captain is able to quickly assist you onto comfy Newton and help you with your gear. Meanwhile, divers with 25, 30, 100, or 1000 dives can get the most out of their vacation by extending their dive time using multilevel dive computers to dive for 60 minutes or more. Because when they fly all that distance to dive they are going to make the most of it and we are going to let them! We really try to avail the longest bottom time as we respect your business time and choice to dive with Belize Diving Services.

I am not sure of the particularities of your travel arrangements; but, we make sure that our instructors treat females with the utmost respect. Sometimes, that might mean they are not as social as they would be at the bar. But they have a very important job to do-- Make your dive day the best it can be. All too often I have been a customer on boats where female divers are target and harassed and have made a policy decision to not let that happen at my shop.

I am glad you gave Turneffe 5 stars in another review. We love it out there and wish more operators would us those dive sites. But then again we like the privacy.

You want to know how to make a Million Dollars in the Dive Industry? You start with two and it quickly becomes one:) Needless to say we love the ocean and its critters and we are addicted to it. We wish we could give away diving; but, then we would quickly stop having amazing Equipment and well equipped boats.

As a PADI instructor I was exceptionally impressed by the quality of service. Nice big boat with plenty of space and a marine head. Free water, suntan cream and defogger, plus lunching between dives. 2 oxygen kits on board as well. Would highly recommend for a diving excursion

Eugene, our dive master, was super helpful and led us through several awesome dives. We saw green moray eels, rays & several turtles.. A great experience! Watch out for the Canadian Dive Master, Cj. He was a little uptight and rude at times... Other than that great service.

Belize Diving Services on Caye Caulker MADE our scuba diving trip to Belize (Oct 2012). From start to finish they were absolutely fantastic: CJ answered the phone when I called and helped me quickly arrange an extremely last-minute trip, including an immediate email with exact directions from the Belize City airport to their door, and even helping us find a hotel when we arrived; all of their staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable during our entire stay - they really treated us like friends and helped us enjoy our time outside of diving too; Walter patiently and reassuringly helped my mother with her first real dives after her Open Water Certification, and was her hero for the full 3 days we dove with them/him. We felt that they ran a very professional operation and left nothing more to be desired. We also heard from multiple fellow divers that Belize Diving Services was the best around (boats, safety, professionalism, etc.). They operate a nice new large boat docked just behind the dive shop that would hold 40, although we never went with more than @ 15 other divers. Each Dive Master/Instructor took 4-6 divers. We experienced a well-rounded series of sites and felt we lost nothing by staying with them in Caye Caulker (versus Ambergris Caye). In fact, upon moving to San Pedro on Ambergris Caye for a single last day, we felt a little "homesick" for Belize Diving Services and Caye Caulker. Many thanks to CJ, Walter, Pablo, Captain Efferin (sp?), TJ, "Chip" & Dani (sp?) for making our trip so fantastic!
As a bonus, there is a nice bar/restaurant right within their complex that we enjoyed and felt safe eating and drinking at until we got familiar with the island. We stayed at the Iguana Reef hotel literally adjacent to the dive shop, and were happy as could be with the accommodations/services/convenience/security there. We would repeat this exact trip at any opportunity!!

My teenage son recently acquired his open water certification and my wife and I planned this trip to keep him inspired about this great blue planet of ours. Before traveling to Caye Caulker, we made preliminary dive arrangements with Pablo who was very good with the emails, providing us the info we needed and keeping the plans organized, Thx mate. When it came to island time and goin diving, with BDS we did 7 dives each, over three days. Everything went as scheduled, very thorough dive planning providing completely professional guide service. They had great gear that is well maintained and impeccable dive boat. We dove locally around Esmeralda, at the Blue Hole and Tourneffe Islands, National Geographic-esque diving experience all 'round Belize. Some different crew on different days but every dive was masterfully executed. Many thanks to all: Pablo, Walter, Eugene, Elias, CJ and TJ, Cheers. Did some additional last-minute diving with other dive operators on the island at similar rates but nowhere close in ANY category of service, equipment or boats; I would recommend NOT using those other operators Unless you are a very experienced diver who can look after themselves thoroughly, cause you never know quite what your getting into until the boat actually leaves the dock.
