After spending a good deal of time researching where to stay on our 1st visit to San Pedro we decided upon the Sunbreeze Suites, turned out to be a good move on our part. We found our time at Sunbreeze Suites to be one of the most relaxing weeks we've spent in a long time. Julia, Vanessa and the rest of the staff went out of their way to welcome us to the island and made it easy for us to return there in February 2013. The room (#301) was clean, well stocked, secure and had awesome view of the aquamarine waters out back. The patio bar, alongside the pool, made that short period of time between late afternoon and evening "operations" very inviting and relaxing. Close by to Fido's, 1st class Dive Operations (out back), and many good local dinning spots all within walking distance. If you want to get out of town to places like Palapa Bar (highly recommended) the Suites will gladly arrange for a convenient golf cart rental to get you around. The staff will even arrange for your pickup from the island airstrip and can also arrange for your short Island hop aboard either Tropicair or Mayan Air from Belize. If you want "upscale" there are other locations on the island to pick from, Sunbreeze Suites was good value and puts you in the middle of everything the island has to offer, at a good price...

Room Tip: Can't go wrong with any Ocean Front Room on the 3rd Floor...

Perfect location. We stayed right on the beach. It was perfect. The bar was right there. Good food and close to everything in town. This was our 6th trip and prefer this location over all others for the price. It costs a little more because of the location. Our fishing guide Mario Granielle picked us up on the dock every morning. We have used Mario as our fishing guide and he is rated number one by all the locals. He is fifth generation fisherman on the island. He knows how to get you a fish, he's quite the comedian too.

The condos are average at best, but the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food at the bar is below average microwaved stuff.

The swimming pool area is small but very nice, except for the chairs. Also on some days stray kids and dogs just seem to take over, the kids bath the dogs in the pool and the staff just ignores the issue.
No chairs on the beach.
I did mention these items to the management when I filled out their survey and they sent me a very nice email.
As stated the staff in general is great!

Room Tip: Garden view rooms are much larger than the ocean view rooms and they charge more for them.

Some might call it primitive, we call it heaven. The hotel (and island) is the Caribbean 30 years ago. There are newer resorts on the island for those that prefer upscale accommodations. The SunBreeze Suites is a cozy 20 suites hotel with entrance on the Main Street and pool/restaurant area on the beach.
My husband walks with a cane; our concern was availability of transportation to/from the airport. Our email communications with the hotel confirmed that transportation could be provided for a small fee. The day prior we reconfirmed with the hotel. Email communications were always very professional and extremely pleasant.
On arrival all went very well, we were asked which hotel we needed to be dropped off at, a quick phone call and presto we were picked up by the hotel golf cart.
In my opinion, the hotel is too far from the airport to walk to, with luggage, etc. It is well worth paying for transportation (less than $10).
Check in went superbly, the front desk employee was very gracious, our golf cart driver dropped off our luggage inside the suite and showed us where everything was. We were provided with 2 beach towels, remote for the TV and as we opted for the inclusive breakfast, our breakfast coupons for the stay.
The suite (full kitchen, living-room, bedroom/bath) was spotless, appliances are dated but clean. Coffee filters and a small amount of coffee were much appreciated. There are no safes in the rooms.
Our ground floor suite was within feet of the small swimming pool and the patio restaurant/bar; a few steps down we were on the beach.
Our inclusive American Breakfast consisted of coffee/juice/eggs/bacon/potatoes/toast, plentiful and delicious. A breakfast menu is also available.
We tried the lunch menu and were very satisfied with the food and service. Daily Happy Hour is a fun way to mix with the hotel guests.
There is hotel security; the hotel front door is locked at night.
We are planning another stay at the end of the year.

Time of stay: May 2012

Hotel staff & facilities: Check in was seamless. Friendly and helpful staff. Curtious staff helped carry my luggage and dive gear upto the third floor. Found the suite to be spacious and meet my needs. Housekeeping thorough. No problems with checkout.

Location: Easy access to boat dock. Located at the far end of the island, yet within walking distance of everything.

I'd go back and stay here in a heart beat!

Room Tip: All rooms appeared to have either an ocean view or were ocean front.

Who knew there are two hotels in tiny Ambergris Key owned by the same company - and both named Seabreeze (Hotel vs. Suites), but we found out first hand! New clean white golf carts with fresh faced Hawaiian shirt clad attendants awaited guests as they arrived at Ambergris Key airport to load luggage and sweep other guests off to their accommodations while we waited, and finally called the Hotel to remind them we needed our included transfer. In stark contrast, the atmosphere at The Seabreeze Suites was evident from the moment our "driver" pulled up in our dirty, paint splattered golf cart. Upon arrival at the SunBreeze Suites, signs adorned the "lobby" about safety concerns as the barely civil front desk clerk checked us in. A woman stopped swabbing the floor to show us into our room at the end of a long, dark, unairconditioned corridor. The room allowed us an unobstructed view of the venders selling trinkets to the constant flow of beach walkers 5-8 feet from our door. Signs all over the room encouraged vigilance about locking up at all times. The head of our bed butted right up to a window that looked directly into the small pool area. After a fitful nights sleep, I awakened to the smiling face of a gardener trimming bushes at our bedroom window. The floors were sandy and the whole hotel seemed unclean, the sheets worn thin. Our included breakfast began with the waitress informing us of what wasn't included and what we'd have to pay extra for (really gives you an appetite). I opted for toast, coffee and fruit. The coffee tasted like they'd run out and just ran hot water through used grounds while the dry, white toast arrived cold. We transferred to the SeaBreeze Hotel the next morning.

We stayed at Sunbreeze Suites in the middle of April 2012. The location was perfect, the room and property were very clean and the staff was very helpful and curtious. We loved the view the Kitchen, the AC and the customer service. Ecological DIve Shop and Seaduced Myan excursion staff were great. Overall it was a good value. This trip exceeded our expectations. We look forward to our return trip.

Room Tip: The view was amazing
