The hamburger I had at this place was the best I ever had and I do eat a lot of hamburgers. One day I I had pizza deliver to my room and it was the best on the Island.

Thank you very much for taking the time out Dan. I am proud to say we have been gaining ground as our chefs have perfected all the menu items. Next time try our Pesto Oizza maybe with some conch?
Hope to see you soon.
Luis

This restaurant hosted my wedding last January and it was phenomenal! For my "bachelor party," the guys and I went out on a fishing tour and caught some of the ingredients used for the wedding dinner. We could tell by the taste and the presentation that the guys in the kitchen took their work seriously. The people who run El Zafiro are well connected and therefore have better supply chains for higher quality food than any other place I've seen up north. If you're looking to get away from San Pedro, I'd consider going up to Sapphire Beach and having dinner up there.

Being from the Chicago area, I appreciate great seafood and the delicious Belizean dishes, but sometimes you just want a cheeseburger or a pizza and I sampled all at El Zafiro` during my five day stay at Sapphire Beach Resort. The pizza was one of the best I have ever had, and the cheeseburger was everything a burger should be- juicy and grilled to perfection with wonderful toppings. I also had grilled mackerel(freshly caught that afternoon by one of the resort guests) and it was perfectly cooked with just the right touch of seasoning.

The desserts were mouth watering from a baked apple combined with brown sugar and butter and then topped by a rich caramel sauce(Valentine's Day special) to a rich velvety cheese cake also with a uniquely delicious sauce and crust. My breakfasts consisted of perfectly made omelets to the classic Belizean scrambled eggs all with the freshest ingredients.

El Zafiro's Tiki torches and candle light at night make for wonderful outdoor or indoor evening dining and it's nice to have the option of dining outside or indoors in air conditioned comfort. This restaurant can satisfy simple tastes at the same time providing culinary delights for the more gourmet appetite. El Zafiro` is at the top of my restaurant list for Ambergris Caye and anyone who knows that island, that is saying something!
