If sun, warm water & adventures are what you seek, all the while experiencing Belizean hospitality at its finest, then book your trip to the Pelican Reef Villas NOW!! Our family (including 2 teenage girls) experienced a trip of a lifetime here. Everything was 1st class... Starting with our booking through Glori all the way through our stay with the staff of Ruth, Armando, Enrique, Santos & everyone else at PRV. The rooms, property, food, staff... EVERYTHING was beyond our expectations. We can't say enough about how great our time spent there was. Not to mention the great excursions of Belize Enrique can book for you on the property: snorkeling, diving, fishing, cave tubing, Mayan ruins, ANYTHING! Just ask Enrique and he'll take care of all the details so you can get back to relaxing on the beach, in the pool or at the bar with a cold Belikin! And if that isn't enough, grab a golf cart and head into nearby San Pedro for more fun & adventure whether it's shopping or eating at one of the many beachfront bars & restaurants. Our time in Belize was heavenly and a BIG part of that was due to our stay at Pelican Reef Villas and their great crew! We can't wait for our return trip!

We stayed a week in July 2014. However, the relationship with staff began long before that. Glori was fantastic at booking all our tours and transfers so that it was seamless from the moment we hit the ground. Ruth, Enrique and all the staff take excellent care of you once you arrive.

We stayed in unit #3 with a great view of the sea. Thanks Amanda and Robard!

Things to know when evaluating choices of places to stay: Pelican Reef is far south from the city proper, which makes for a quiet stay. You MUST rent a golf cart for your stay. Glori can arrange that before you come. Remember everything closes around 9 pm so if you don't have food in your room and you haven't eaten you will be hungry...

The road to town is unpaved for about a mile and it is a bit rough in spots. For us it was worth the drive. The unpretentious, homey feel was perfect.
We would come back.

We stayed at Pelican Reef for 4 nights in the beginning of July. Carlos picked us up from the airport without a hassle and upon arrival at the resort, we're greeted with a rum punch and bags taken to our room. The 2 bedroom villa was spacious, very clean, and well appointed with everything we could need. Couldn't have asked for anything more. The pool and swim-up bar were great on the more humid days and the beach and dock were great places to spend time as well. Had a great time and can't wait to get back.

Room Tip: Upgrade to the ocean view if you can, nice breezes.

Although I did not stay there and was only there for futbol and drinks the staff and guests seemed comfortable and friendly. The drinks a little pricey for San Pedro but such is life with higher standards. Not a complaint just an observation. The pelican roost is built like a cave over the pool. Cool and shady. Great staff!

Our group of 6 couples stayed at this beautiful property. From the time we arrived, we got the royal treatment. Greeted with a welcome sign, a aromatherapy washcloth to cool us off, a beverage and several attendants to take our bags. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. We felt at home here.
The condos are well designed, and in good condition. The staff helped us with whatever we needed! They coordinated all of our activities and reservations, and have no shortage of ideas for things to do! The property is further out from town, which we actually preferred. It's a fun golf cart ride to town (you can rent golf carts at the property). This is the best property in Belize in my opinion. It's quaint, relaxing yet fun, and not stuffy (which was important for our group who likes to have a good time!).

This is an excelent place, the atention of tthe staff is incredible. Special thanks to Enrique. The resort is a little far from time, wich is good because is silent, but is not that good to fine places to eat. The villas are very good, the rooms and the view. We will come back for sure.

Our family of 4 stayed here in June of 2014. We had an amazing time while in San Pedro and Pelican Reef had a lot to do with that. For us, the choices came down to Pelican Reef Villas or Coco Beach Resort. We chose Pelican Reef due to its proximity in the south and a recommendation from a friend. All things considered, Pelican Reef is a wonderful, comfortable, and incredibly accommodating boutique style resort.

First, the positives. We arrived to a gracious welcome with cold drinks and rum punches. The staff here is unbelievably friendly. We were quickly checked in and shown our room. The room was extremely clean and well equipped. The resort is a smaller boutique style resort and the staff caters to your every need; they were really a large part in making this an incredible vacation! There is no crowd here; no fighting over lounge chairs or pool space. The landscaping is absolutely gorgeous; truly a tropical paradise. The food and drinks are wonderful and they’ll serve you poolside, beachside, or to your room. Breakfast was included and the drink and menu prices are reasonable. Armando makes some amazing drinks; try the watermelon Mojito. Glori took care of all our transfers from Belize City. She was very responsive via email so we didn’t need to make a bunch of long distance calls to arrange our stay. They will also book all your excursions while you’re there. Enrique will take care of everything else while you’re there; taxi, dinner reservations, etc. He even shucked a coconut for my little boy, for us to eat and drink from, which is one of those things he’ll always remember.

There was only one minor negative I’ll mention as a heads up. We stayed in a 2-bedroom condo on the second floor just above the pool bar. The master bedroom is literally 25 feet from the pool lounge area. When there’s people at the bar, you can easily here them. If they’re rowdy, you won’t be able to sleep. This certainly isn’t a problem if you’re a “late nighter and late sleeper”. But we had little ones so we were early to bed and early to rise. The bar typically closed by 11:00 but if there’s guests looking to party later, I think the hotel would accommodate that. I wouldn’t downgrade this place because of this. Just posting as a heads up to those that are early risers – you may want to make sure your bedroom isn’t near the pool bar area.

Bottom line is we highly recommend this place for couples or families. You won’t be disappointed. A very special thanks to Greg, Enrique, Armando, and Glori for a most memorable, and all too short, vacation.

Room Tip: Ocean front rooms are literally steps from the beach but the ocean view rooms are a good option to s...
