We had a group of 6 and stayed in a 3 bedroom villa. The room was very nice, modern, all the little things were thought of. All the things you hear about the staff is correct, all friendly and knowledgeable and willing to help with reservations. I suggest asking where they would personally go...not the tourist spot but where the locals would go. We ate at some obscure places and had the best food and the best time. DO NOT miss out on a day with Oliver and Jimmy...by far my favorite thing to do was the fishing and shore lunch. These guys are fun and if treat them right they'll show you a great time. We walked a mile + of beach front and did not see one beach near as well kept, the grounds crew does an exceptional job. Santo even cracks a smile once in a while. Cleaning staff also does a great job. Show your appreciation and you want regret your visit. Even the owner Greg is a nice guy (even though he is from Texas)..good luck with the baby btw. Hope to see "ya'll" soon (that hurt to say). Kimberly T and crew!

Room Tip: If you are an early bird maybe get a room further from the pool / bar but for the most part noise is...

I love everything about Pelican Reef. The resort is not only, clean, comfortable, and beautiful; but the staff is what makes it really special. Terry quickly transforms from helpful resort to employee to a good friend. Ruth could not be more friendly and makes some of the best drinks you will find on the island. Santos is not only kind and funny, but he will not allow you to lift a finger. As far as I am concerned there is not other place to stay on the Island.

This resort was a perfect experience for us. The area is about 2 miles from San Pedro (an easy bike ride), which kept the noise and traffic down. The resort is smaller and much more personable. The staff was incredibly friendly and helped us at every single possible turn. They went way out of there way to make sure my girlfriend and I were as happy as humanly possible. Even the manager would come out and talk to us like we were the most important people there. The beach was beautiful and the sand, perfect. The staff did a great job at keeping the area clean and very well maintained. The artificial reef under the dock, though small, held much more life than I was expecting. We witnessed stingrays daily, angered an octopus causing him to ink, found a rather large starfish, and enjoy a multitude of small (and some large Tarpon) fish. The room was a very nice and clean condo-style villa. It was much more room than the 2 of us needed, making it very comfortable for families. Security patrolled the grounds the entire night, but even if they weren't there, I would have felt comfortable and safe enough to leave my doors unlocked all night. I even left valuable scuba gear out on our first-floor patio over night without any worries of theft.

This resort is perfect for couples and people looking to just relax and detach from the stresses of their daily lives. San Pedro is a short bike ride away if you even feel like seeing other people. I would recommend this resort to anyone and everyone. We will return several times.

This is not a massive resort with all the crazy amenities. I don't recall a gym (if you want a work out than take a kayak out or go swimming) and there wasn't a spa (besides a nice woman with a massage practice down the beach). This is a small place with a great view and even better staff.

In all my travels I have rarely been treated so well. It is a beautiful resort, the staff goes over the top for you, and the food is very good.

You will need a golf cart for this location to get into the city, but we enjoyed being away from it all. Besides the cart ride into the city was a hit with the kids.

We did a trip Lamanai, which was nice but a long day. We fished with Alex and caught many barracuda. The resort arranged it all and we were pleased with our activities. I think we would have snorkeled the reserve if we had time, but we didn't get to it.

Bring some snorkel gear since you will want to see the fish right off the pier. The water is warm and it is nice to float around and look at the fish.

We really enjoyed our visit to Pelican Reef and San Pedro and we hope to return soon.

We stayed at PRV for 9 nights, from Dec. 12-21. This is a beautiful property, located about 3 miles from the center of San Pedro town. It's far enough away to be peaceful, yet close enough to easily get into town for dining, shopping and other activities. I would recommend renting a golf cart for your trips into town, plus it's just fun to cruise the island in a cart! The resort is immaculate, and the units are well appointed with granite counters, stainless steel appliances and a washer/dryer! Beautiful beach with lots of loungers and a large dock for pick-ups for diving excursions, etc. We regularly saw sting rays and other fish around the dock, which was really cool. This is a great property, but the staff makes it fantastic! Our interactions were great, beginning with Glori taking care of everything for setting up our reservation, golf cart rental and Tropic Air flights to/from Belize City. Carlos was waiting for us at the Tropic Air terminal, and upon arrival at PRV, we were warmly greeted by Terri with a rum punch and told that no shoes, aside from flip flops were allowed! What a welcome departure this was from the 36 degree temperature when we left home that morning! Terri, Ruth, Reuben, Manuel and all the other staff members were always smiling, friendly and helpful. These folks work hard to make sure their guests are well taken care of, and gladly offer suggestions for dining, etc. Terri is AWESOME, and was so helpful during our stay, assisting with planning excursions to the mainland (Lamanai and Xunantunich ruins), setting up dive trips, making sure we got our breakfasts in time for our early morning excursions and just taking the time to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Greg has a terrific, hardworking staff at PRV. Thanks to everyone at PRV for making this the best vacation I've had in a long time. I cannot wait to go back to beautiful Belize and all it has to offer, and I'll surely be back at PRV! If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay in San Pedro, do yourself a favor and contact Pelican Reef! They are truly exceptional.

Room Tip: I don't think there's a bad location at PRV. Our garden view unit's balconies overlooked...

Spent a fantastic week at this resort. Located a little over 2 miles south from the hustle and bustle of town makes it even better. The villa is modern and very clean. The staff always greet you with a smile and are very friendly and helpful. They have great recommendations, set up all the excursions for you, and you even get picked up right from their dock.
