I contacted hotel about booking 2018 reservations. I was informed by Julie that although they are dog friendly, our dog would need to be in a container whenever he is in our room. They have had problems with dogs sleeping on the beds and couches so they no longer allow any pet inside any room without being in a container. Also, we should know that they have a German Shepard who sleeps on the third floor while she's not sleeping on the second floor or the ground floor or on the sand out front - basically - her dog sleeps or runs everywhere. She did not know how her dog would feel about our dog.

I was a little taken back by this email as the website, all over it, states dog friendly. Further, for $300 a night, who dictates that ones pet must be crated the entire duration you and your pet are in your suite. This seems rather cruel and I'm not sure how Caye Casa can call themselves Pet Friendly - unless they're referring to their German Sheppard.

Our Southwest flight got in late so we didn't make it to San Pedro till 8:00pm (thanks to Tropic Air for staying open late to get us to the island!) Caye Casa arranged for their night security guard to let us into our room that night and then check in the following morning (small hotel, so closes at 7:00pm.)
We stayed in unit 6, which was a small room with a balcony outside its door, situated between two much larger suites. When we come back (and we will) we'll spring for one of the suites -- smaller room was perfectly comfortable, but who wouldn't want a private balcony to better enjoy the amazing view?
The owner, Julie, is a delightful woman who lives on the premises and built the hotel herself and clearly loves the place, which shows in how well she takes care of it and her guests. Everything is immaculate and well cared for, with great housekeeping. And the location is quite possibly the best on the island. All the best restaurants are within a 15 minute walk-- much of which is along the beautiful sea shore.
And don't pass up the chance for a massage at Charlene's tent out in front of the hotel. Really great massage at a fantastic price!

We stayed at Caye Casa Jan 12-21 and Julie was able to shift us to a beachfront casa and it was great! The location is quiet for being so close to middle road. It's nice to be so close to grocery stores and walkable to everything. We did rent a golf cart for a coupe of days to run around the island and that is highly recommended. I also highly suggest the massage tent directly across from Caye casa they do a wonderful job and very reasonable. Cheers

We loved our 5 nights here at Caye Casa. It is a perfect location and we look forward to returning. Julie is a wonderful and helpful host and the staff is really great. We had a 2 bedroom suite and spent many happy mornings in the Adirondack chairs on the front porch. Nice dock and swim area. An easy walk to restaurants Oh, and a Bakery one block away!

Stayed 3 nights in the 2 bedroom villa on the 2nd floor. Villa was clean, spacious & equipped with everything we needed. Absolutely loved our deck facing the ocean. Catching the sunrise every morning was a real treat! Downtown San Pedro was a close 10 min walk along the beach, which meant the location of our hotel was nice & quiet. The only reason I didn't give this review 5 stars was because rooms are a bit pricey & because you're not free to adjust the A/C temperature in your room as you wish. You have to notify the front desk & maintenance will adjust it for you. For the price we paid, it would be nice to have control of the temperature in your room. I would stay here again though. I really did like & enjoy this quaint boutique hotel!
