We stayed 4 nights at the Conch Shell Inn on San Pedro. The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything. We had an upstairs room which moves you above the busy beach and the verandah is a great vantage point for viewing the ocean, boats and general happenings. The boat from Belize City dropped us off at the wharf in front of the Inn. The room was comfortable, spacious and the kitchenette was handy for making morning coffee and keeping fruit in the fridge. We would definitely stay here again.

This is the second year in a row that we spent our spring break at the Conch Shell Inn. The staff is very nice and helpful. Joan set us up with a catamaran ride on the Lady Leslie that was amazing. The hotel itself is amazing as well. It is close to places to eat and drink. The room has plenty of room and a very comfortable bed. It can get warm at night but they have two fans in the room that help a lot. You can't get closer to the ocean than the Inn. It is steps away. You are not paying for a fancy resort here but I don't think I would want to stay anywhere else. If you want a pool, do what we did . We rented bikes for ten bucks for the day and road to fancy resorts with a pool. As long as we bought a drink there we were able to use the pool. Saving well over a hundred dollars a day from the fancy place is worth it to us.

Rented a total of 3 rooms with friends for the majority of the week. Joan and Mark bent over backwards to make sure we were having a good vacation, and the staff was great as well. It can be a bit noisy at times, but I realized I didn't notice it after the first day. Central SP location for restaurants, etc.

Room Tip: Room 1 if you're going for first floor, 6 on the second.

This was a great budget choice that turned out to be the highlight of my trip. Stayed in room 5 on the second floor. Clean room and a perfect location in the heart of San Pedro. It got a little loud in the evening but I was there at Carnival so what would you expect. Good fun was had and things did not go on too late anyway. Would recommend Conch Shell to my friends. Belize and this spot were a perfect place for a new romance.

We booked the room on the recommendation of a former guest and glad we did. The rooms clean and well kept. There was drinking water in the rooms. The manager and owner was helpful. In the centre of the tourist area we could walk to most places. There were several good restaurants within easy reach. This was good value for the price of the rooms. I would definitely come again.

We stayed at the Conch Shell Inn for 8 days at the end of January and beginning of February. It is a budget hotel so don't expect luxury. It is, however, clean and comfortable. As other people have mentioned the beds are wonderful. It is centrally located and it is easy to walk everywhere in town. Because it is in the centre of things it does tend to be a bit noisy though. Joan is wonderful to deal with- she is an amazing hostess and eager to make sure your visit is what you are hoping for. Our refrigerator broke down while we were there and it was immediately fixed. It is such a pretty little place right on the beach and a great base to explore San Pedro from.

Room Tip: We were in room 6 on the ground floor right at the end. It had windows on the little road to the bea...

I just returned from a nice stay at the Conch Shell Inn. The location is great, right on the ocean and next to the Caye Caulker water taxi pier. (Use this water taxi and not the San Pedrano since it is right in front of the hotel!) The room was very clean with comfortable beds, mini fridge, TV with a lot of channels including some movie channels, and good WiFi! It is so close to everything that you can walk to restaurants, bars, shopping, a small market around the corner, dive shops, and the town square is just a few blocks where they have little food stands set up at night with cheap food! Eleanor was like having family there to take care of you! She is the BEST!! She offered to hang up my wet beach towel to let it dry and returned it to me the next day. Thank you so much for everything Eleanor!! If anything stops working, like the TV remote, she had a new one in the room the next day! They make sure any problem is fixed pronto! They have A/C you can pay extra for when it gets hot and humid or there is not enough breeze in the downstairs room. The first 2 nights I was fine with the ocean breeze but the wind changed due to a front trying to blow in and there was no breeze making it very humid so I requested the A/C the last 3 nights. The a/c cost about $10 more per night. They can only run 2 a/c units on each floor so if you think you really need it, I would request it when you make a reservation. I had the room farthest from the road that runs next to the hotel and it was pretty quiet. If your not an early rise person, then request one of the quieter rooms. There can be a little bit of noise from people talking out by the taxi pier at night but it was only noticeable one night and didn't last too long. Bring ear plugs if your a light sleeper but overall it was a very enjoyable place to stay and I would definetly stay here again!

Room Tip: Room 10 was one of the quieter downstairs room which was on the far end of the building.
