“Excellent Value for Your Money!”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

Pedro's Hotel/Hostel is exactly what it portrays itself to be! If you're looking for a resort type atmosphere where your every whim will be attended to and pampered then I would suggest you look elsewhere. However if your vibe is to meet a vast array of personalities from all over the world and wish to mingle with staff and locals to get a genuine experience of San Pedro, Belize then this is the spot without question! Peter "the owner" is a salty british straight shooter that tells it like it is but will ensure your stay is quite pleasant so I know he has a soft spot for his visitors even if he doesn't let on to it right away! Lol As for the rest of his staff I.e. Paul, Fellipe, Alex and the rest of the crew one couldn't ask for better employee's and they will do everything to ensure a pleasant experience during your stay! In my opinion you can't beat the rooms for the price! I stayed in the hotel portion and was satisfied with the air conditioning, room layout, bathroom was fine and the shower hot! The bed was firm and sheets/towels changed daily if needed. If you leave here not feeling like you're leaving friends behind then you're probably just an idiot that didn't need to be here in the first place! Pedro's bar is great! Alex makes the drinks strong and the pizza is fantastic! Like I previously stated, if you leave here not totally satisfied with your stay then "YOU" obviously chose the wrong spot or were expecting to much! Would I come back here again? In a heartbeat! Oh! And kudo's go out to Peter for recognizing that I had a medical condition (Not from staying there) Lol that required immediate medical attention "High Blood Pressure/Swelling of the joints" and urging me to seek medical attention that my very well have save my life! Thank You! I would urge anyone that is looking for value/social interaction and adventure that this is the best spot on the Island! You can't go wrong!!!

Pedro's Hotel is a good, inexpensive, hotel for those looking to save some money. It is nothing fancy. The rooms are small, but have enough space. Good air conditioners. The bathrooms are nothing fancy, but do the job. Everyone is very friendly. Our purpose was to a have clean, SAFE, place for 16 high school & college students who want to scuba dive. There is Wi-Fi across the street from the hotel in the bar / restaurant. There are two nice pools which are in great shape. We used them 3 times during our stay. The food is good. It is located within walking distance to the main downtown. A well equipped grocery store is a short walk away. We enjoyed our stay. It met our needs well. I would stay there again. Be sure to bring your bug spray as there are mosquitoes most anywhere in town.

Room Tip: Newer rooms, in the new building are closer to the bar / restaurant and have access to Wi-Fi. Cheap...

This is a hotel and hostel rolled into one. This means there is a real eclectic mix of people staying here leading to a unique experience.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. While the rooms are basic, they are clean and well-maintained and have everything you need. It is very well located, less than a 5 minute walk from the town centre and the beach, and with one of the best bars on the island right on the premises.

There are bikes and golf carts for hire at very reasonable, competitive prices. The hotel also have links with all the major tour operators making it hassle free to organise any trips/diving should you want to.

Overall an enjoyable stay.

Pedro's Hotel is located a couple of blocks off the main cobblestone road just South of the downtown of San Pedro. It is easy and convenient to all the close attractions and restaurants of the Caye.

If your looking for a fancy, all inclusive, snobby and expensive location, this isn't your place. But if your looking to save money on accommodations, spend that saved cash on the great restaurants in San Pedro, this is the way to go.

The Hotel is broken into three distinct categories. The Hostel, the older portion, and the recently completed newer portion. There are two pools flanking the picnic tables that are outside the indoor lounge/bar/kitchen.

The owner Peter personally greeted our group upon arrival and got our group quickly settled into our accommodations. We stayed in the mid-range priced rooms. They were clean, simple, and effective for our large group of divers. We didn't expect fancy at the low price we were paying.

The rooms have a small sink and counter, dresser, small tv, shelves in the corner, one to two single beds, or pushed together for a king, an A/C unit, small table next to the bed with lamp, and a bathroom with a shower. The different floors had separate outside doors for an entrance to keep the mosquito's out. Security cameras were located on each floor.

The lounge was open from early evening until around Midnight. While we were there, they hosted a poker run, had a live band (Get the bartender Alex to sing, this girl has a great voice), karaoke night, and plenty of music on the nights where there wasn't an activity.

Food was very good, staff was great, and it was a great blend of guests and locals that hung out from night to night. Peter was able to host an all you can eat pizza night for our group, and organized a full breakfast for each morning that was cheaper and more encompassing that anything we could of grabbed in town.

Our groups only complaint was about the beds being inconsistent from room to room, and the breakers would sometimes trip. They do have plans to continue to update all the mid priced rooms to the level of the newer rooms.

You can't find a cheaper, and more complete place on San Pedro this close to town!!! It fit our bill, and I would have no problem booking this hotel again. Peter knows everyone in town, and coordinated everything with our Dive Operator Ambergris Diving.

Room Tip: Book according to your budget. We were a dive group and we won't waste money on rooms that we b...

After backpacking through Guatemala I was more than ready to stay in one place for more than three days. Pedro's Hotel was the perfect place for that, you are not far from the beach and have a ton of amenities at your disposal. You can rent bikes at the hotel schedule a snorkeling trip eat some of the best pizza ever and drink ice cold beers or local rum at a reasonable rate. The owner Pete is a busy man but makes time to answer any questions you might have and the entire staff there is just lovely, very helpful and accommodating. I was sad to leave but will definitely stay there again during my next trip to San Pedro. You have several room options, we chose a private room that had air conditioning but you can upgrade even further and book a larger room located by the pool should you want more space and a nicer bathroom. They also have a security guard that watches the hotel and hostel ALL night so you are very safe! What I liked the best was the mix of people from solo travelers, to retired Americans, to families. By far the best value on the island, do yourself a favor and give it a try you won't regret it.

Room Tip: The hotel option has air conditioning which I feel is worth the couple of bucks more a night. The pr...

Pedro's was the perfect place to spend our time in San Pedro, not to expensive, clean, air con, all the basics+ two pools a bar a restaruant. The owner and staff were very helpful setting up trips and giving advice for things to do. It might say hostel but it's more of a hybrid, housing families and backpackers together along with many awesome dogs. It's a little set back from all the action but once your there you find out that it's a good thing. I would deff stay here again.

Two of us stayed at Pedro's in June. The price was great! The Staff was very nice. The room was clean and provided all the necessities of a room and bath. But the beds (though clean) were NOT good. The springs nearly coming through the mattress cover and hard. The AC was good. Lighting very POOR. TV good. WIFI was only in the common area but it was "free" and fast. But again....The price was GREAT at only $55.00 per night (for 2) at this off-season time. Coffee, water, soda's......everything else is an extra cost. Two pools....big enough to get wet in....but nothing special. Course you have the whole of the ocean just a short walk away so who can complain. You can't get coffee at Pedro's until after 8:00 am. And it was NOT good coffee. Over all....I'd give Pedro a 8 out of 10 review.....FOR THE PRICE (you understand). It is NOT on the beach....and hard to find first time there. The roads around Pedro's are dirt and dusty. If I had more $$, I would stay at Ramon's Village Resort! We spent a lot of our time on their beach and restaurant. :)

Room Tip: Pedro's is great for the money.
