Pedro's hotel was wonderful.
I was greeted with a smile and a very quick check-in. I provided my credit card and was able to charge trips, food, water, beers in the bar all 'to my room'. When I check out it was seamless and professional.
The housekeeping kept my room very clean. It had a little bit of a funny smell to it, but I have stayed in far worse in Asia, and it is the cheapest option on the island.
It was also a great place to meet people. I went alone and made friends in no time. The atmosphere is laid back, the pet dogs are adorable, and the staff was great at their jobs!
Thanks for the great time guys! I will see you again.

Room Tip: The hotel rooms are much nicer than the Hostel Inn. Private bathrooms, tv, larger, and furnature.

I stayed in Pedro's Hotel for two weeks and had a really amazing time. The hotel is great, with basic but nice air conditioned rooms which are cleaned daily. There is a lovely pool to have a swim and catch some sun. The bar is open every afternoon, they serve fantastic pizzas and LOTS of Jager so be prepared!. Peter and Cindy are both easy going, lots of fun, whilst also being very knowledgeable and helpful. They also have wifi access, bikes and golf carts to rent and a decent laundry service. I would highly recommend Pedro's hotel to anyone wanting a fun trip to San Pedro.

I booked to stay for a week with my friend & ended up staying for 2 in the hotel The place is great as the rooms are cleaned daily, the ac works, the pizzas are good, the beer is cold & the Jaeger flows feely. All the staff are great, very helpful, knowledgeable & will even take you out into the town - thanks Walter!
What more can a girl ask for? Oh apart from the daily abuse from Peter! That made it extra specail.

Might even return later in my trip!

Pedro's is nothing like you expect. If you like frills, this is not the place for you. However, if you enjoy Belize the right way, you shouldn't spend too much time in your room. Peter is by far the best part of the hotel--my best friend Trish and I had such a good time with the entire staff. This place is very easy going and everyone is very helpful. There are bikes available for rent, which we took full advantage of--I highly recommend it. It's far enough away from the rest of the city but yet close enough (trust me, we made the walk about a million times).

The staff is full of helpful information, so take full advantage of them! We will definitely be back!!

Arriving at Pedro's Hotel, my first thoughts were that it looked a little quirky and a quite intriguing, however I was to find out very quickly that this is what makes this place so very special and possibly the best place I've ever stayed (and I've stayed at a great many hotels in many countries, usually 4-5 star places). This is not your 'typical' holiday resort like the ones you'll find dotted all across the Island on the beaches, this place is truly one of a kind and for all the right reasons. Tucked away only a 5 minutes walk from the white sandy beach and arguably one of the best beaches for swimming in San Pedro, you'll find Pedro's hotel, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets, giving it a more relaxing atmosphere, yet only a 7 minute walk to the centre of town so the location is perfect for those looking for a quieter place to rest yet close enough to walk within minutes to the beach and all the shops. I stayed at Pedro's for 2 weeks whilst doing a medical elective on the Island and fell in love with the atmosphere there. There's a lovely warm pool with loads of sun loungers and shady spots for those who want a break from the sun, the adjacent pub where many locals and tourists alike often congregate in the evening for either a live band performance (who are very good), a trivia night (where you just might win some spending money), watching sports on the 2 very large flat screen tvs, or just to play some pool on the outside table whilst meeting other travellers from all over the world that come there to stay along the friendly locals (many of whom are ex-pats) who will welcome you like family. The food, particularly the pizza and lasagna is pretty darned good too. Pedro's really seemed to have something for every budget, there was a hotel building, with immaculately cleaned rooms (the staff clean the rooms daily including changing the sheets & towels & sparkling the showers, toilets and sinks), a hostel above the pub, again with clean rooms and even a few rooms in the main building, one which looks out at the pool where you can sit out at sunset to watch the fireflies come out to play, have some small sweet tree frogs and gecko's dart around you and even enjoy watching the very large resident iguana chilling out by the palm trees. There is a price to match any budget, from a backpacker travelling alone or with friends to someone (or a couple or family) preferring a hotel room with air conditioning, a lovely cooling ceiling fan and a nice hot shower with large queen or king sized beds to curl up in at the end of a long day. Another unique feature of the hotel is an on-site veterinary clinic at the front of the hotel (not that you ever hear any animals there), with 2 lovely gentle resident dogs at the hotel, who won't disturb you if you're not an animal lover, but if you enjoy dogs, then you'll love seeing these two friendly pets. There are three lay back hammocks dotted around a covered area with a picnic table ideal for relaxing in the shade or checking your emails on your computer with a great high speed wi-fi which is available for free throughout the hotel/hostel/main building/pool areas.
Another thing that makes this place special are the staff, who bend over backwards to make your stay as enjoyable and happy as possible. Peter and Cindy really know how to take care of their guests, whether it be from helping you organise trips, diving, renting golf carts to seeing the local sites like the ruins and they know all the best places to go and eat on any budget. They will even organise to get full loads of laundry washed and folded for you for only a very small price on site and returned to you on the very same day! Anything myself or my other colleagues staying there needed, they delivered, quickly and without hesitation, even providing us with free fridges for our rooms, they even managed to drag us into the pub on several evenings to enjoy some drinks with them and share some laughs with the other guests. Everyone just seems to come together at Pedro's and it's more like staying with extended family than at 'just a hotel', there were even people leaving other resorts to come stay at Pedro's while we were there as they'd come to relax at the pub and enjoyed the environment so much that they wanted to come stay. A final, but not exhaustive benefit of being only a few minutes off the beach front at Pedros, is that there aren't many places along the beach in the main areas where you can sit on the sand and just rest anyways without being hassled by people selling jewellery and bags every 5 minutes, and a number of the beach front resorts will allow you to go and sit on their loungers or sit on their docks if you go for a drink or a meal there anyways, so you get all the benefits, without the large price tag that often comes with staying at those places and you will certainly leave Pedro's having made more friends and unforgettable memories than when you arrived! I've travelled and stayed at hotels in over 40 countries in the past 10yrs & have never stayed at a place quite like this. If I ever come to Belize again, I would, without hesitation or a doubt, stay at Pedro's in lieu of any other place on the Island, and I know that all of my colleagues (around 12 of us in all who've stayed there over the past few months) would whole heartedly concur!

Room Tip: Book your room early if possible to avoid any disappointment as Pedro's was booked almost solid...

Cheap hotel rooms which are house cleaned daily (new towels, TP, bed spreads, rubbish). Air Con!!!!!!!!!!!!! which is a necessity

This place is particularly great for young travellers
Lots of different cultures, ethnicities and age groups

Has a small pool and popular poker room, and a good bar and restaurant attached which makes it hard to leave the place. Great food - particularly the pastas. friday nights have live music and every second tuesday is a pubquiz

Staff are a good bunch, mixture of personalities but all round easy going

Would stay here again if I came back. Unless of course I could afford a fancy resort.

Room Tip: Hotel>Hostel 3rd floor of the hotel has issues with water pressure in showers so better to stay...

My son and I spent 10 nights in Belize-Ambergis Caye. We stayed at Pedro Hotel and had one of best times we've ever had. Peter, Paul, Cindy, Walter and Alex were a hoot. If you want a place you can stay to meet and mingle with people from all over the world this is the place to stay. We were treated like family and had the greatest time with all of them. I know when I go back for another diving adventure this is the place I will be staying. I have traveled all over and this is the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in. Thanks Peter
