I have never written a review but I cannot say enough about The Belizean Shores. Beautiful! We arrived and from the moment we set foot on the property we were relaxed and happy. The room not just a room! A condo. The porch/balcony is where we spent the most of the time we were in the room. Ocean breeze and the view! We never turned on the air conditioning opened the windows and enjoy the perfect temps. The staff all are kind, they make sure to know your name, the gentleman who took care of the luggage ALWAYS has a smile, The manager she is wonderful anticipates your needs, Dennis at the front desk thanks, they took care of the flat tire on the golf cart made sure I had my massage. I just wish I could have remembered all their names. Sandra the masseuse very professional and gifted. The beach! What can I say it goes on forever, there are no boundaries, you can walk to town with no issues. It is a VERY SAFE place to visit. The dock has TUFF E NUFF tours, I Love those guys. Wayne, what can I say, he will keep you entertained and is very knowledgeable and will keep you safe in the water, go on the beach barbecue you will not regret it. Top, the fisherman of little words but wow! Aaron and Kino who were our guides from TUFF E NUFF to the mainland, They are so knowledgeable about their country the flora, fauna, animals their culture the Mayan culture (and they are FUNNY). I cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed our time with them. They should have a cd made of all the information they provide!! The end of the dock run like you are a 10 year old and jump in the ocean, there is a slide and diving board and a trampoline in the water go play and enjoy, you can snorkel and get a kayak and then go snorkel off th kayak. Not being as slim and trim as I used to be I was concerned about the Kayak, getting off and on in the water but it can be done with little effort. I recommend the Burrito guy for breakfast burritos and Tamales. ohhhh the tamales, listen for the bike bell. You can get fruit and veggies in Tuesdays at the dock. Fresh fish and lobster tail form the fish guy on Tuesday and Fridays (mostly) check with the staff off the resort or Tuff E Nuff they know. Bring your own spices as the kitchen supplies utensils, pots pans etc, but to cook you need the basics. Try the Burger at Coco Beach! Bring a flashlight to explore the beach at night, you can walk for dinner (again its safe!!!). The people in this country are the nicest I have encountered ever, the philosophy is plant one for you, one for your neighbor and an extra in case someone needs it. We will be back! and I cannot wait

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms have a more private balcony

Nice resort. The average age is maybe a little high if your a bit younger but the service the food the staff were amazing. They have the nicest pool in Belize i believed and also all your activities can be book right here on the spot. They also have a small store in case you forget anything. I would recommend this location.

What a beautiful resort. This is not a Hotel per se as most of the units are privately owned however they are managed so well you would never know. The upper units have a loft bedroom otherwise the units are all similar. The have a stove, fridge, microwave, toaster, dishes and utensils. Water is not drinkable from the tap and water pressure is a little low. Some unit owners spend a lot of time at the resort and some don't rent their units while away so even though the resort is has no available rooms it may not be full. There was always ample room at the beach or pool without having to play the towel game.
The people are so friendly both staff and guests and not just here they are that way throughout the island. One could walk up and down the beach and everyone would say hello or stop to chat for a second and share recommendations for good places to eat or have a drink. We saw a couple of women in their eighties walking about a mile to dinner at dusk surely to return home after dark. The very few vendors walking the beach will not bother you if you are not interested.
The restaurant here is expensive but so is everything on the island. The longer you stay the more values you will find in the area. This resort is a sister to Cocoa Beach next door and you are able to bill to your room from there as well. They also have some relationship with another resort Xtan-Ha about 2 miles north that is worth a visit. There are restaurants and bars up and down the beach within walking distance, A boat comes to the dock on Tuesday mornings and sells fresh fruit at good prices. A man sell fresh fish and lobster tails a couple of times a week and there is usually a burrito guy on the beach in the morning. Several grocery stores will deliver everything free for orders over $50.00 which isn't hard to exceed.
The excursions are booked from the dock through Tuff-Nuff. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable. They will book snorkeling, diving, pleasure cruise ,mainland trips, etc. Could you find these a little cheaper in town? Probably, but I can't see why you would want to. These guys are wonderful and will take care of you door to door and are priced competitively. Their boats and equipment are well maintained.
The resort will handle getting you to and from San Pedro upon arrival and departure. I would recommend getting a weekly water taxi pass as it is the best way to get around the island. We made the mistake of renting a golf cart for the week and driving from the airport. Pothole filled is not sufficient to describe the only road. Craters surrounded by potholes big enough to have their own potholes. It was an adventure but I actually enjoyed it and got a little better a navigating the roads after a while.
I can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Upstairs units have a loft with an additional bed.

We are just returning from a week at the Belizean Shores Resort. This was our first trip to Belize and we had a great time. The resort was nicer in person than online. It was cleaned daily for us, including our dirty dishes! The kitchen and bath were dated, but that didn't bother us. For the price and the amenities, it couldn't be nicer. The pool and grounds were spotless. The staff was great and always trying to make our stay comfortable. The Tuff e Nuff staff was also great. We snorkeled at Hol Chan/Shark Ray with Arial and Billy. They gave us a quick history of Belize and the efforts to preserve the reef. The marine life at the reserve was amazing. We also went to Lamanai through them. Other highlights were the daily yoga classes at Ak'bol and lots of fly fishing. Rent bikes at least once ($5/day at resort) and get a 5 day water taxi pass ($30/person), you will use it!
The only thing to keep in mind is that you are going to Central America. You will see astoundingly poor housing conditions and a lot of garbage on the shoreline where there isn't a resort to maintain it. You will also see care free, beautiful people (the locals) who are happy to share their amazing island with us. Have fun! We will definitely be returning.

Belizean shores is a great little resort. Well away from the bustle of San Pedro yet close enough to a variety of good restaurants. The rooms have a condo feel to them given that they are a complete living space. Very friendly staff.

We were there for ten days and it was just wonderful excepted for the bed quality. We had hard time to try to sleep; bed was too soft.
Other than that, everything was just wonderful. We had a lot of rain during our holiday and they keep the hot tub really warm and it was really appreciated.

Room Tip: Room on the beach really worth the money!!
