As this restaurant had just come under new management just before I arrived in Sept 2013, I was anxious to see what new owners DJ and Lorraine were up to. As I was staying there while gathering info for travel articles about Belize, and specifically about this well known and rated resort, a good restaurant is very important.
I was not disappointed with what I saw or experienced. This young couple are working to transform this restaurant into a favorite hotspot, and I believe they will. DJ the chef was kind enough to create a different specialty from his upcoming new menu each night for my wife and I to try. His new creations, mostly his own take on local and international choices were exciting and delicious. It was quite obvious that he can and will take this restaurant to new heights.
And then there's his wife Lorraine, the baker ! WOW ! She fresh bakes all breads, rolls etc every day ! If not in the menu while you are there, have her make you bagels ! Or if your really lucky she made her doughnuts ! Simply awesome.
Can't wait for my return next year to see their progress on menu as well as the building.
