Don't waste your time on the drive out and especially don't waste $20 Belize dollars to see nothing....we were actually warned by the Caretaker that there was nothing to see, so saved us the heartache...just wanted to warn others....

Our first day on San Pedro we thought we'd check it out with our free afternoon. It was a little confusing getting there, not because you can take wrong turn it's just traveling down a rambling road in a golf cart is a little different. You get there and you have the place to yourself. It's really cool just walking around reading the descriptions. An afternoon shower came up and made the experience complete.

Nothing fancy. Don't expect too much. It's a look at the island which few know about. It's not a monstrous, fancy, developed ruin site but I really enjoyed it.

We stumbled across this site and went to it. It is very very new and we did a self guided tour. It is located at the south end of the island. They have laminated interesting facts for you to see.

Doesn't seem to be much going on there since the initial excavation. There was no one at the site to give a tour which might have made it more interesting. You are best to call ahead if that's what you want things are marked but the first couple just look like little dirt hills. As far as bugs i brought repellant but didn't need it as the light breeze seemed to fend them off. I walked to the site from Pedro's in town and it's about 19km return. Easy walk on a cloudy day but if it's wet there are lots of puddles south of town. It wasn't a bad way to waste the morning and get out of town.
