“Tour by Jan”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

Jan Brown our tour guide is very knowledgeable and is so passionate.
If your interest is archeology it is well worth the trip. It was interesting but I guess I dont have a passion for this. I believe if you do you would love this trip.
Jan was so accomodating and picked us up at the water taxi dock, the road out to the site is a bit rough and you travel via a golf cart. There is plenty of walking once on site, but plenty of times to stop and look at pottery shards, hermit crabs and foundations of the old homes.
The cost is very reasonable and informative.

“Nobody there but me”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

They have a donation box out front. During the busy season, you can go on guided group tours. Take a rickety (sometimes underwater) handmade wooden path (made with some new wood and a lot of scrap from fences, signs, piers...) in through a mangrove swamp. Site has many mosquitoes!!! See broken foundations, bits of pottery, crabs, lizards, snakes, birds... There is nothing impressive here but I enjoyed the nature walk by myself. It's all the way at the south end of the island so just keep driving your cart or riding your bike and there are a couple signs to guide you (you can't get lost).

“Definitely worth a look.”
Reviewed September 17, 2012 via mobile

It's an interesting little site, with it's remains of pottery and bone fragments. I would definitely go with guide Jan Brown. She is very passionate about the site, and offers a lot of information about the Maya people who occupied this place so many years ago. She will even pick you up and drive you there for a small fee!

“Don't miss this!”

Absolutely stunning! If you visit Belize, be sure to not miss this and climb to the top of the temple where you can see into Guatemala. Such a beautiful part of history....

“Don't forget your bug spray!”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

The walk along the boardwalk through the marsh was pretty, but watch out for the mosquitos once you are in the bush. They will seriously swarm you! The conch piles were very interesting and we saw lots of pottery shards and some remaining walls. This is no Tulum (or other major site) for sure, but a short afternoon excursion right on the island.
