“Great stay at banana beach”
Reviewed January 23, 2014

My self and two other friends stayed at banana beach for 5 days and really enjoyed the small resort. The pools are small but always clean. The beach is nice but can't swim out front so this kinda sucked. The room are a bit dated but clean and nice for the most part. Overall the resort is nice and not far from town on the golf carts. There are lots of places to eat if you watch up the beach to the left. Hope you enjoy your stay and remember a vacation is what you make it!

I spent the weekend at Banana Beach. I liked it so much I am trying to move to an apartment just down the street. You can use facilities if buying some drinks. I recommend the Pina Colada by Marlon during happy hour. $4US is well spent Add a Cuban cigar and you are on your way. The staff was excellent, friendly, helpful and prompt.

Room Tip: Rooms with a private balcony and view of beach are available but doubt if they are worth extra costs

We enjoyed 3 nights there and would go back. This isn't a 5 star, but the price is reasonable for what you get. The rooms are newer, they have a tour office there and golf cart rentals. There is a water taxi pickup out the front. I like the first floor rooms around the pool.

Room Tip: First floor room around the pool is what I liked.

Banana Beach was a great stay for us.....great location, small hotel, basic kitchen amenities, large one bedroom suite and a great price compared to other properties in San Pedro. We actually returned after our first stay when we had some extra days to burn off before our flight home.
Beach is good compared to other resorts near san pedro but don't expect the miles of sand beach from any of the properties.
Pricing is much better through travel sites rather than the hotel directly, although their website says guaranteed lowest price.....not!
Food and mixed drinks are overpriced but good. The ceviche and the desserts are the best!

The pictures are deceiving of this hotel that is only the beach side of the hotel which may be personally owned condos. We were put in a hotel type room on the third floor. The room was clean and ok. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had booked thru bookit.com and immediately had a an issue that bookit had not paid for our room even though we paid bookit, this started our trip off totally upsetting as the hotel was going to charge us again. It was not until the end of our week that this was resolved. This hotel is about two miles from town so if you don't want to walk stay closer in. The restaurant is expensive.

This is far from a four star resort which their website claims. The pictures are deceiving. It's between a 1-2 star hotel. They did not honor the free breakfast deal that their website offered since we used a booking service instead of booking directly from their website. There pretty much isn't a beach. The tv was a 15" older tv. One day their was no hot water for the entire day. Wifi is slower than dial-up and it almost always took 15 attempts to log-on. It's also about two miles from where the main part of town is which requires you to rent a golf cart to get around. There aren't any really good restaurants nearby. A significantly better choice would be Ramon's Village. We checked out other resorts and that was one of the better ones. I would only choose Banana Beach if I didn't know better. Go anywhere else. About the only positive things I would say is that the maid service was good and that there's a great bakery within a five minute walk.

Room Tip: I'd only stay here if you don't care about what your accommodations are like.

We spend four nights at this hotel and the experience was nice. The room was large and it has a partial ocean view balcony. The furnitures are old, but we slept fine. The bath needs attention because the unnecessary tub is too small and the courtain doesn´t permitte to take a good shower.
The internet is terrible at any part of the hotel. The restaurante El Divino is very good.

Room Tip: In the 3rd level you have no internet.
