“Nice staff - no beach access.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 28, 2013

Stayed here for 5 days this month. Front desk staff, one of the waiters (Jorge) and girl at Monkey Business tours were very nice and helpful. Oceanfront suite was just ok. Old and TV was in the dining room - no TV to watch in bed. There is no beach, just some sand on top of a concrete ocean wall. Not bad, but would not stay here again. Food in restaurant is very good but very expensive.

Service staff are very efficient and generally friendly. Also the on-site agency helps to arrange great tours. But rooms are now a bit old and the "beach" is pretty lackluster. Overall has a US motel feel to the place.

Think it's an okay option at the right price only

Nice staff, beach was nice for San Pedro (seaweed)-super nice staff, seemed safe. I appreciated the fact the staff saved our rental cart for us and the room service was very reasonable. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Room was large and A.C was good

in a depressed location so. of San Pedro Town, we were warned not to venture off the main road during day and not to venture out at night due to crime in the area. There is just a seawall, no water access where beach is raked so piles of trash and dead sea-grass block clean access. Pools are cold. On Saturday night the security guard did not appear and there was a seedy element with women soliciting after 2AM in the morn and noise until 5:30 AM. Best part, nice staff! We stayed two weeks so had plenty of time to evaluate.

We stayed at the Banana Beach Resort for ten days in December 2013. Great staff, always cheerful, friendly and willing to help you. the resort was clean and the amenities were all available from a great restaurant available for breakfast, lunch and great evening meals. The monkey services kiosk could help you with anything from tours to renting golf carts or bicycles at comparable prices. the staff were always friendly and they kept the grounds clean.

This was our first time to Amber Gris CAye, so we were a little disappointed with the beaches. You can't really swim off the beaches as there is thick weed banks all along the shoreline. We did find a dock down the beach to swim off of, but don't expect good swimming directly off the beach. We went for several snorkling excursions that are a must for anyone that snorkles or dives. The shark Ray alley was a great chance to swim with some friendly sharks and sting rays.

the Banana beach resort was chosen for its location and price, and we did not regret it at all. there may be some resorts that are a little newer, but we would return to the Banana Beach resort without question if we ever go back to Amber Gris.

Room Tip: We paid extra for the beach front suite with an oceanview patio and used it every morning for coffee...

We just got back from another 10 day trip to San Pedro, BZE. Again we stayed at Banana Beach and again it was awesome. Can't say enough about the staff. We stayed in the same room (B111) and we LOVE it. El Divino once again served is sensational food, their burgers are the best, and the island's "best rum punch":) We just love the people there and all over the island. When you stay there you feel like they are only taking care of you. And try the couples massage. There is a lady and her daughter that give them there....INCREDIBLE~ Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: We like B111 which is looking out over the pool and to the ocean.... but if you want it quieter do...

Banana Resort was an great place to stay, great location I love the fact that the beach was seconds away. The staff was friendly and helpful everyone seemed to love their job, when we arrived our room wasn't ready but I was totally okay just sitting in the beach looking at the water was breath taking alone, it feels great getting away and going to a place were people really care. Our rooms were clean the tv, ac was awesome it was like our own private suite. I would definitely recommend Banana great price location and not loud if to over crowded I would love to come back!! When in San Pedro staying here is a must!!!!
