what an amazing trip! Everyone was so accommodating, hats off to Robert, Vidal, Ron, from the food area, Jose from security, & Turiano & Jose from the dive shop. I would trust Turiano with my life ( and the yummy lionfish) . The rooms were great. We stayed in seaside #46, one back from the honeymoon suite. Then there is Ramon. So charming and charasmatic I loved his stories and the way he spent time with his guests. I would definately come back again. There were no complaints, just beautiful weather and people. We stayed for two weeks the end of April and dove the blue hole, snorkled, hungle hike to the black hole drop (300 ft repel) Lamanai (mayn ruins) Manatee snorkle...busy everyday & lovin it! Love you guys, you made our trip so memorable....Joan & Tim Kelly USA

Room Tip: Room 46 second one in from beach with thatched roof & great view.

On our third trip to Belize, we chose Ramon's Village because of the excellent value and the scuba diving package. Our expectations were exceeded a hundred times over. The dive operation was among the best we have experienced in the Caribbean. All of the sites we dove were pristine and our dive master was extremely good at spotting creatures and assisting divers.

The accommodations were excellent. The rooms were imaginative, clean and very comfortable. Living with no TV is a pleasure to me. The restaurant and bar were extremely good and the service was superb. Meals, especially breakfast, were delicious. Perhaps the best treat of all was meeting and spending time with the visionary who originally developed the resort---Ramon Nunez. If you have the opportunity to meet him and talk with him, he is extremely articulate and has many interesting stories of the early years on the island.

This friendly little resort near the airport (don't worry about noise, one prop plane comes and goes only during daylight hours) has a wonderful restaurant and great bar, beautiful grounds with native flowering plants creating a cozy, private feel, and a wonderful white sand beach. Dive facilities were good, with a number of well-equipped boats kept docked just outside your door and a small but good quality selection of rental gear. Our divemaster was not great about finding things to view but followed good safety procedures. Due to rough seas we did not go to Blue Hole, but there was good diving to be had just minutes from the dock. On each dive we had a boat driver, a helper who lugged tanks and weights, and a divemaster. Each dive we only had four to six divers.

Room Tip: It's worth paying for an ocean view room. Rooms one building back from beach are okay, but othe...

Ramon's is very beautiful, tiki style lodging, nice beach area and pier as well as great dive shop on site. One caution the garden view rooms are very nice, but there is road noise from the golf carts and small vehicles that you will notice in the late evening. So if you are an early sleeper before 11pm or so, it can get on your nerves. Go for the ocean front and all is PERFECT! Great staff too!!! We wil return!

We traveled to San Pedro in January 2012, I can tell you that the Ramons Village Resort wasn't all it said it was.
The room had mold on the wall in the bathroom about the size of a towel, the bathroom door wouldn't close and the water was either hot or cold, no in between! Our room was cleaned daily, but one of the cleaning ladies went through my purse that was in my suitecase ( I bought a side bag for a purse down their), because she accidently left an earing in my purse for me. And best of all no TV in our room! So don't think you get to watch the news back home. We had a partial ocean view room. Grounds were kept nice but found the only people that wanted to give service were the ones that got $5 tips or better (American Money). The exchange at the time was 50/1. $10 American = $5 Belize
The prices are expenses don't think your gonna get a deal like in Mexico, and althought everyone claims they make their wares, you can buy much the same back home.
The food was good I have no complaints since I ate mostly what the locals would eat, Rice, Chicken, and Beans. LOL! Meat tasted like it was supposed to but not much for fuit or veggies.
The water was warm and nice, you can see lots of ocean life right from the docks along the beach. You will be amazed at the plastic floating in the water there though.
Saw lots of wild life like howler monkey, crocs, lizards, rays, and even a sea horse, ocean fish and such.
If your gonna fill your days with site seeing do the mayan ruins, go snoreling, like sharkray alley, or coral garden, go sailing its so much fun. I felt very safe like old world valves you know like when you were kid and could go run around town and everyone watched out for you because you were a kid.
Watch when you book things through the locals, they claim they have the best deals, cheaper than the next guy, but the truth is they charge you based on how much they think you have. Our best guide and bookie was Lizardo, he was fun and the best price and brought the rum punch on our golf cart tour, we did so much with him it was worth the money we paid plus some. And he was knowledgeable, gave great advise.
Overall when we first flew into San Pedro I was worried that I picked the worst place to go, since we don't travel very often, but everyone gave good review on here, the Ramons wasn't a great choice but the rest of if was, if I were to suggest a place it would be the Sun Breeze Hotel, we went and checked out both of these hotels and I would get one with a kitchen. That way I could make breakfast at least in our room because like I said it is the same prices as at home for eating out.

Looking to do some open water swimming?? the sea grass at the beach has been cleared (I understand that Ramon's has grandfathered permit to do this) - it's only cleared about 20' into the water - but sure makes wading in the water & swimming a whole lot nicer!! WHY is this such a big deal?? Well there are stingrays & lion fish in the seagrass & we talked to several people who were stung while walking in the shallow water. The beaches are public so anyone can use the beach/water (just not the chairs). We stayed at another hotel but took the opportunity to use this beach for swimming.

Enjoyed dining at Pineapples restaurant - prices reasonable - food delicious and bug spray (for mosquities) was provided in the evening (YES - you DO need to spray to keep those pests from biting!!)

We just returned from our first trip to Belize and loved every minute! We traveled all over the island to see if there was somewhere else we would want to stay when we return...NOT a chance! While there are several places that looked great and were appealing in many ways, we feel that Ramon's is absolutely the best place for us! It's convenient to everything and has a remarkable staff- big shout out to Kareem, Alex, Ronnie, Francis, especially Joe, and of course, Ramon!! The grounds, pool and beach are beautiful, all due to the staff that works non stop to keep it that way! Other resorts were beautiful, but you could not play on the beach due to sea grass, weeds, etc...the staff at Ramon's works very hard to make sure it's always nice and tidy. We had one of the honeymoon cabanas and loved that we could walk right out the door on to the beach where our two reserved chairs were waiting for us! It wasn't busy when we were there but bet this would be a bonus if it were! The only things to note are that it's a very large room with a palapa roof...even with the A/C running full throttle, it never gets super cool. It's also on the sunrise side of the island so it gets bright really early (don't expect blackout curtains). Also with the palapa roof, you can hear talking outside but my husband, the early riser, said you couldn't hear anything from the hammock on the porch with the ocean tides and breezes blowing. Guess I should've "slept in" on the porch:). At any rate, none of this would keep me from returning to this fabulous destination! We are already planning our return trip!
