We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Victoria House. The facility and location are a perfect combination for a honeymoon. We found the staff to be extremely accomodating, friendly and well trained. A special thanks to Abi, Greg, Julio and Ramon who very helpful throughout our entire stay.

One of the most beautiful places we have seen in our travels. From the moment we arrived we were treated with kindness by the attentive staff. Every attempt was made to accomodate requests. The grounds and rooms are spotless. We enjoyed out trips to town in a golf cart but our stay was so pleasant-- we spent most of our time on the beautiful, pristine grounds. Hard to leave--- but we will be back and will certainly recommend Victoria House to friends and family.

My wife and I recently returned from our second stay at Victoria House. Again, we had a wonderful time. We stayed four nights and three days, which isn't enough. In fact we have already booked our return in Sept for 7 nights. The food and service at the Palmilla dining room and Admiral Nelson's beach bar were excellent. Even though we were at the property during high season and they were fully booked, we could always get chairs at the pool and it still felt uncrowded and relaxing. The staff is friendly and the housekeeping is amazing. I think they spent 2-3 hours cleaning our room everyday. This is our new favorite vacation spot. And, San Pedro town is really fun!

We went on a family trip (2 families with 5 kids total from age 9 - 16). Our first trip to belize. We did not know what to expect, but we had an awesome trip. After spending 3 nights in the interior of Belize, we spent 4 nights at Victoria House. It was perfect.

The property is beautiful and located about 10/15 minutes from San Pedro -- which is good if you want to be a bit away from the "action" around San Pedro. Well maintained, and some of the rooms/villas are very new. We stayed in Villa/Rooms 60/61 and they were very roomy -- huge bathrooms and very clean. The pool, restaurant and bar are perfect if you want to relax by the pool, enjoy excellent food etc. Compared to other places we saw, Victoria House has to be one of the nicest and certainly has a spacious, nice and clean pool/beach area. We did not see some of the older rooms on the property. You may want to ask if your room will be a new or older room.

And all water activities are accessible from the dock. The boats for fishing, snorkeling etc. will pick you up right at the dock on the property.

The beach is clean and neat -- although please note that the beach is not really designed for swimming. There is a small sea wall where the sand meets the beach and the water has sea grass etc. There is a roped off swimming area at the end of the dock. So if you are looking for a beach where you can walk into the water for a swim, this is not really how it works here.... And I believe all of the places at Ambergris Cay are basically this way. But Victoria House has 2 swimming pools, so there is plenty of room to swim!

The reef is several hundred yards out -- so you can't swim out to the reef -- you will need a boat of some sort to take you out to the reef for snorkeling, diving, etc. This can be organized easily at the dock and it is a blast.

Food was outstanding. Probably one of the best spots in town.

Rent a golf cart to get into town. We rented from one of the many golf cart rental places, but I believe the hotel has them to rent by the hour if you want. They also have bikes that you can take into town.

The town of San Pedro was more populated than I expected. We enjoyed going into town to check it out and eat at other restaurants, but if you are looking to relax in a peaceful setting, Victoria House is a great spot. If you are looking for action and nightlife etc, this is probably not the place for you.

Bring your bug spay! If the wind dies down, the mosquitoes can be pretty bad.

My wife and I spent a week at Victoria House in February. We had a great time, just wanted to give my two cents because the reviews here have always helped us choose vacation destinations. I'll keep it brief:

the resort is by far the most beautiful, well-maintained properties we've visited. It is SO clean. It's also very quiet... Unlike Sandals where Reggae music blares at all hours, VH is quiet and peaceful all the time. If you're looking for the party crowd, go elsewhere. We loved it, relaxation is what we were after.

It is relatively expensive... Not being AI, the high prices for beers and food can add up. If you stay here you will want to rent a golf cart so you can go into town (about 10-15 min each way) for meals and drinks -much cheaper in town. That being said, the food there is outstanding. Get the lobster if it's in season (ends in February) ... $29 US is a steal.

In town: try Lily's for amazing ceviche, Wild Mango's has great everything, and Lola's Pub is a great place to have a few beers and some bar food. If you dug seafood, The Reef is a restaurant owned by a local fisherman with great food and cheap prices. These are a few places not on Trip Advisor, thought I'd share them.

If you head North, beware - the road is ROUGH. However, the Palapa Bar is worth the trip. Have a few drinks out on the pier.

Overall, I very much reccommend Victoria House if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway in a beautiful setting.
