“Great property off the beaten path”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

This was our first visit to San Pedro, Belize and we were very glad that we picked the Victoria House. All of the staff is top notch. Great people with great service. We visited for 10 days booked fishing and snorkeling trips. We had a blast. I highly recommend the Victoria House, we checked out other hotels in San Pedro and they are by far the best. Professional staff, great food, clean rooms, easy booking options for activities and a spacious property. It was nice and quite and off the beaten path which we love. They are in a great location, you can take advantage of the free bikes, gold cart rental, taxi or walk the beach to town. We are definitely keeping this on our list and can't wait to go back! Loved this place!!

We stayed at Victoria House for a week in a plantation room and our experience was everything we wanted it to be! The staff were attentive, the grounds immaculate, the beach perfectly clean and the food excellent. We made use of the free bikes a couple of times to go into town which was fun. We booked a days fishing, a day at Lumanai Mayan ruins and a half day snorkelling which were all great fun and well organised. Having looked at a number of hotels whilst there, Victoria House is far and away the best. The restaurant is also one of the best on the island. We can't wait to return!

This was our second time at Victoria house and again we are in love. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is attentive and professional. We again dove with the Bradley Brothers, Rene and Jacinto who we adore. They are 2 of the most patient and safe dive masters. We saw amazing wildlife on all of our dives with them. We definitely recommend VH

My husband and I are at Victoria House on our honeymoon right now and it has been amazing. We are leaving tomorrow and we are very sad to have to leave our paradise. This is a gym in a great city. The resort is beautiful and service and food are excellent. The casitas are very romantic. Pool is great and beach is very relaxing. The dive shop is very helpful for booking excursions. We visited several other spots while here and are confident we picked the best resort. We can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: Casitas for couples are great but small. Casita 10 is closest to the beach

Staff at this hotel is what makes it the best of the best, service is excellent, restaurant and bar are also of high quality, on the pier they have a dive shop to set up all your tours you might want to take, again the best of the best. The operator of the boats we were set up with were also of first class caliber. The suite we had was awesome, turn down service nightly, room serviced daily, the outdoor shower was the best, I never did take a shower inside and we were there five days. The two pools are in perfect condition and well maintained, as is the beach area, if someone ever found something wrong with this place, then I would say there is something wrong with them. I have traveled alot and this is one of the best of the best.

Room Tip: All rooms are perfect

I give this property, that has been managed by Brent and Janet for many years, a 5 star because I always relax and have such a good time. No butlers, five course meals, fancy clothes or pretentious atmospere, just a place to stay barefoot, relax and do any water sport in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

I have stayed a this property 20+ times over the last 25 years. The property keeps improving and I keep going back because I can always count on the experience.

The dive and snorkel shop on the peer is always the place to decide what to do each day. Some of the best diving and/or fishing in the world. The guides are native Belizians and are the best. They keep you safe while making sure you have a great time.
If you can arrange for any of the Bradley brothers to take you fishing or diving then you have struck gold. George, Leonardo, Renee and Hyacinto help make Victoria House the place to go.

A golf cart ride to town or to explore is always a great activity and a way to see the Island first hand.

Spending time at the bar on the beach is just so relaxing with the trade winds and one of the special drinks they prepare.

After writing this review, I have gotten home sick and need to make another reservation. Just two hours from Houston, and you are in Paradise.

Room Tip: If you take some friends then there are 3 houses on the property that make a great family or friend...

We spent 4 nights here in our month long holiday, a week of which we spent in Belize.

Firstly we had a lovely time at the hotel and in San Pedro - and we really loved the whole experience. The reason I have not rated it a 5 overall is due mainly to the price and the value offered. This hotel is expensive and probably the most expensive on the island. I tried to have a look at other hotels whilst we were there to compare as overall I would say Vicotira (as a well equipped, lovely designed, boutique style hotel) keeps within the natural settings of the landscape the best and is unassuming whilst luxurious.

However I do beleive the hotel could potentially offer more value for what you pay. The hotel has access to the best your guides and everything we booked through the hotel was very well run, however all activities are charged as extras. The only complimentary services you receive are bikes, and Kyaks and a golf cart shuttle into town which ends at 6pm, so not ideal for when you actually need it for dinner!

The breakfast included is a continental basket of toast and/ or pastries wih a juice and tea and coffee. Again maybe including a buffet or hot breakfast would improve the value.

The 2 pools are lovely a well cares for as too are all the lovely garden spaces. Being outdoors and lounging around the pool is very enjoyable (however no one warned us about the consistent Carribean wind!). The service at the pool and bar was very good.

We stayed in a plantation top floor room which looked out to here beach. The room is not large but was fine for a couple and the balcony was great to chill out on in the afternoon.

If I was to return to San Pedro I would definately consider Victoria if there was a better price promotion or offer.
