you simply must snorkel hol chan. it's amazing - schools of fish, coral reefs - all right next to you. you definitely do not have to dive. we snorkeled and had a great time. get a local guide, and he will tell you about each of the fish you see, and talk about the different coral. our guide pointed out a lot of things we saw, but didnt know what it was!

We did an excursion here wit Tuff E'Nuff and I cannot say enough about the guides. I expected to be plopped in the water and left on my own. Instead, James and David made sure everyone in the group saw all the best fish, diving down to tease out moray eels, catching nurse sharks for the group to touch, explaining details of some of the particular wildlife like the sea turtle "Eileen" so-named because of her gimpy fin. Sting rays, grouper, coral, yellow-tail jack and more, in abundance. I really wish I had an underwater camera. Worth every penny!

The second largest barrier reef in the world... Hol Chan is incredible! You can swim with sharks (nurse sharks) they are large and gentle... large manta rays and turtles! Incredible number of fish and the coral reef is spectacular! You should not miss this place!!!
