“Great job, guys!”

Hugh Parkey's Belize Dive Connection

We threw a pretty good challenge at these folks with the large group we took from DiVentures. Kevin and his staff, though, met the challenge and exceeded our expectations. The divemasters and boat captains were friendly, entertaining and very helpful with our full range of experience, from open water checkout dives to divers with hundreds of dives in their logs. Briefings were thorough and safe diving practices addressed before every dive. I like that.

We even had a few divers who, due to various circumstances, needed a little more attention and Kevin himself insisted upon taking them and being their private divemaster on a couple of occasions. Very impressive. Dive sites were chosen by divemasters and captains based on conditions and experience levels and they were open to suggestions from the divers. We even did one site twice because we enjoyed it so much.

Location is hard to beat as, with more than 40 divers, Sunbreeze is one of the few places that could accommodate us. Being able to walk off the resort into the dive shop and onto the pier was both welcome and wonderful. They even had some special guests from the US Embassy in Belize out for a day (courtesy of a Belize Coast Guard boat and crew) and I had the pleasure of diving with them. When I asked the security team how they chose Hugh Parkey's, they told me safety and experience were key and that this was one of the few operations approved for US diplomats. Pretty hard to beat that kind of ranking.

Groups of this size can be hard to manage but Hugh Parkey's handled us with great aplomb, making the trip safe, enjoyable and memorable for us all. Highly recommended.

Hugh Parkey's, the onsite dive shop at Sunbreeze Hotel took great care of our group. We brought 46 travelers from DiVentures in Omaha, NE and Springfield, MO. Kevin was so helpful in setting up diving for us and even found us a third dive boat as we had so many divers. I had the pleasure of diving with Israel and Jerome, whom were attentive to our divers, extremely friendly and funny, and gave special attention to the divers that needed extra help. Our group will be returning :)

Great Time. This was my second time diving with “Belize Dive Connection” and the dive master remembered my name from over a year ago! Dive guides know the dive sites by heart and went the extra mile and then some to help some of the new divers build confidence in the water. They planned the dives and we dove the plans very safe operation.
Snacks provided between dives were good normaly chips and salsa with some kind of freash fruit.

Our family of four just returned home from our diving holiday in San Pedro with Hugh Parkey's Belize Dive Connection. My husband and our 20yr old son did their open water dives with Israel completing their diving certification. Patrick took our 22yr old son, myself and 3 other divers to the same dive sites as them although we went deeper to keep it interesting. We were so happy to be able to share these memories as a family. We were lucky to have a great group that just clicked and Patrick and Isreal added so much to the great time. They are both extremely capable, calm, trustworthy and fun! Kevin was also very responsive with his emails, organized, helpful and friendly. He runs a very professional dive shop.
Patrick and Israel were able to locate so much marine life and beautiful coral. They really made our diving trip so special. The dive shop was also a comfortable place to hang out and chat with other divers. Coffee pot was always on....a lovely way to welcome us each morning and between our dives.
We can hardly wait to go back!

My husband and I went diving with the Dive Connection team December 12, 2012. There were pluses and minuses to the experience.

Pluses
1. "The General's" positive energy was contagious and added to the experience;
2. Picking us to directly from the Carvival Glory was easy and efficient;
3. The expert staff kept an excellent eye on all divers at all times.

Minuses
1. The reefs at the Black Pearl and Crickazeen were not more spectacular than those seen outside of Belize, which surprised us because we had heard so many good things about the Belize reefs.
2. The staff made no mention of taking care with the reefs and not touching anything. This worried us because we have seen how touching the reefs can kill them.
3. Our diver cut into the reefs to retrieve an ocean denizen. We're not sure whether the denizen's home was alive, but it felt wrong to disturb.

Thank you for the time you spent in posting your review, however this page is for Belize Dive Connection - San Pedro and you actually were diving off of the cruise line and therefore did not dive with this operation. Your review is actually posted in the wrong location as it not for San Pedro.
