“Excellent Food!”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

We ate three meals at Caroline's and Caroline herself helped pick the menu. She's never wrong, so let her recommend what's freshest! Try the fruit juice, it's well worth it!

“Can't keep advertised hours?”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

On our last day on Ambergris Caye, my husband & I took bikes from the resort to eat breakfast at Caroline’s. I’d read so many reviews with great experiences, and we needed a somewhat timely meal not far from either hotel or airport, so it sounded like an easy decision to get to Caroline’s early and eat. Not so much. It is fortunate that Caroline can cook well, and that she has a sweet spot next to the airport. We arrived at about 8:05, and even though the store hours sign clearly says 7 a.m., it was closed. Someone stuck their head out & asked if we wanted breakfast, and that it would be a “few more minutes.” About 10 minutes later, a family of seven came up, as well. At 8:30, a flustered person I can only assume was Caroline drove up with groceries & went inside. She opened the doors, then promptly took the order of the large family that came up after us and turned it in before ever offering us menus. We waited at least 30 min. for our food, and the large family was, in fact, almost finished before ours ever came out. (We understand “island time” quite well, as we experienced it most other places. This was NOT “island time.”) Most of the food was really good; the Belizean breakfast, home fries, and fry jacks were standouts, as well as the freshly squeezed o.j. The bacon, however, was overcooked to the point of hurting your teeth to bite into. Service staff was rushed and inattentive, no doubt feeling the rush of people waiting outside since they opened 1.5 hours late. We might try Caroline’s a second time next time we come to San Pedro, but having worked in the food service industry many years myself, I would definitely work on, at the very least, keeping advertised hours and making sure to know which patrons get waited on first.

“San Pedro great food and fun go see Caroline's Cookin' FANTASTIC!!!!”
Reviewed July 7, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at the palms oceanfront suites which was about half block from Caroline's! My husband and I stopped in for brunch. I had the best shrimp omelet in my life! Levi had the Belizean breakfast with fresh watermelon juice! Amazing!! We ate several more meals with Caroline! We had a party of nine staying at the palms and Ramon's and she actually walked over to the palms and took our orders for our very own lobsterfest dinner party!! Who does that?? Her entire staff spoiled us!! Go see Caroline and make sure to poke your head into the kitchen to meet Amanda! She is an amazing chef as well! Go in to relax, drink and have the best food you ever tasted! No hurry! Your on island time! From Darlene and Levi in Texas!
