“The Best of Belize”
Reviewed January 24, 2014

I understand that what is pleasing to one's palate is highly subjective, but there is no getting around the fact that Elvi's Kitchen is an experience that you will not want to miss, should you be dining on the island of Ambergris Caye. Our family has been visiting the island for 35+ years as my parents have owned homes on Isla Bonita, and we have been dining at Elvi's throughout those years. The physical restaurant has evolved over those years, and on our latest trip the ambiance has been enhanced with live Classical and Spanish Guitar music. The one thing that has not changed is the tastiness and quality of the meals that Elvi serves to her patrons. From the get-go Elvi's has been special, and it has only gotten better. This week we have dined there three evenings. I have especially enjoyed the Whole Fish Dinner (Hog Snapper deep fried to perfection, head left on, of course!) served with choice of baked potato, beans and rice, etc. Other tasty meals enjoyed by our group were the Mayan chicken, (baked, wrapped in banana leaf), Fish ala Elvi, Shrimp Creole, Mayan Fish, Coconut Shrimp, Stewed Chicken, Fish with Blackbean Sauce, Garlic Chipotle Lobster (yum!). If you ever visit the the island I would highly recommend Elvi's, and even suggest that you would be disappointed if you left the island without enjoying the dining experience at Elvi's Kitchen.

“Great Conch Fritters”
Reviewed January 18, 2014

First place I ate at in San Pedro and was very satisfied with the dining experience. Inside the cafe it was very clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Special on Wednesday for lunch was the Conch Fritters; They were fantastic; served with plaintains and cole slaw. Delicious!!

“food was terrible”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

We ordered the stone crab claws and it was so bad I could not even eat them. I don't know if they over cooked them or what happened.

“Best Meal In San Pedro”
Reviewed January 16, 2014

Five of us stayed in Ambergris Caye 1/4-11/14 and ate in San Pedro nearly every night to sample restaurants for dinner. Friday night is Mayan Buffett night (all you can eat) and everything on the menu was excellent. The home made pico de gallo could be packaged and sold over the counter. Friendly wait staff; traditional sand floor. Highly recommend!

“Lunch in San Pedro”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

Lunch offerings were better than dinner. The conch soup was especially delicious. Nice ambiance with sand instead of flooring.
